What does it really take to stay married for 50 years?In this special episode, we sit down with Brad’s cousin Ted and his wife Debbie as they approach their 50th wedding anniversary. Along with Brad and Susan, they reflect on nearly five decades of marriage, ministry, parenting, hard seasons, and God’s faithfulness.Ted and Debbie Rhoades currently reside in Winchester, IlThey have been married since July 1976. Ted is bi-vocational. He is a horseshoer by trade (since 1976) and also pastors Cornerstone Baptist Church in Winchester. Debbie is a Registered Nurse who is retired. They have two grown daughters:Alicia and husband Tim serve as missionaries in Kenya since March of 2012. Daughter Kim and her husband Nathan and son, Ethan currently live in Wichita,KS where Nathan is senior pastor at Metro East Baptist Church. This is not a story of a perfect marriage. It is a story of commitment, growth, and choosing each other again and again.If you are newly married, in a hard season, or decades into your own journey, this conversation will encourage you.
