We're really pumped to have had the chance to talk with one of the fittest men on the face of the planet, Sean Sweeney, the Crossfit Cowboy. Sean, from Fallon, Nevada, is a 2x competitor at the Crossfit Games, a Crossfit Games regional champ, grew up team roping and ranching, a US Navy Veteran, and just an overall good dude. A couple of weeks ago in Cape Town, South Africa, Sean won "The Fittest In Cape Town" Crossfit "Sanctional" event to qualify him for the 2019 CrossFit games that's held every August now in Madison, WI. This is where the fittest humans on the planet come to compete to be crowned The Fittest Man/Woman on Earth. If you don't believe me, go watch a few videos from the games, realize you can't lift with two arms what they lift with one, and that it'll probably kill a normal human to go at the pace and put in effort these ELITE athletes give all day, everyday for 4-5 straight days over the course of these competitions.
We talk about his upbringing on the ranch, his time in the Navy, and his transition from that to a Crossfit coach, gym owner, and Crossfit Games competitor. We discuss his mindset, his ability to overcome, and the importance of fitness. For you folks out there that practice Crossfit as your prescription to fitness, at the end of our conversation, Sean outlines for us a new (TERRIBLY DIFFICULT) WOD called COWBOY UP. All in all it was a great talk that was a bit of a change a pace from the rodeo athletes we've had previously. He's a great guy that wish all the best to throughout the rest of this Crossfit season and into the 2019 Crossfit Games! We hope you enjoy this as much as we did. Thanks for listening!

This episode of Married With Horses is with the incomparable Amberley Snyder. Amberley is an amazing person with a unique, sometimes difficult, but certainly inspiring story. Amberley was in a truck rollover accident in January of 2010 injuring her back at T11-12 which left her paralyzed from the waste down. While it was undoubtedly tough at times, she's persevered where many others would likely have given up or greatly altered their life course. Not Amberley. This was the beginning of a her new chapter. A fight that has continued for the last 9 years which has seen her overcome the initial expectation of doctors and once again compete in the sport she loves. RODEO.
Amberley's amazing story has now been turned into a movie! "Walk. Ride. Rodeo" will be released on Netflix on March 8, 2019. We talk a lot about the production of this during our conversation. We also discuss her wonderful family, her horses, her future goals, her unwavering mindset, and many of the other complexities of her life. She's an absolute gem. We hope you enjoy this one!

What's up!
This episode of MWH is a unique one. Jackie took our mobile recorder while hauling from Texas to Jackson, Mississippi and back this week. She hauled with her good friend and fellow pro barrel racer, Taci Bettis. While heading back to Texas from the Dixie National Stock Show and Rodeo in Jackson, they pulled out the recorder, sat it on the console, and recorded a little over an hour of their conversation in the truck. Folks have said that our shows with guests can feel like you're just hanging out a rodeo or barrel race with a couple of friends, well that's exactly what this was. It's like sitting in the backseat of rig with 2 NFR qualifier's chatting about the ups and downs in the sport of rodeo. Giving their opinions on all sorts of things. Just watching those stripes. Trying to keep it "between the mustard and the mayonnaise." Hope you like it!

On this episode of Married With Horses, we cover a bunch of random and interesting current events and cover a little recent rodeo news. We also discuss the REAL cost of a colt. In the later part of the show we answer a couple of questions submitted by listeners. One question we answer was about things that lead to success in the horse business and life. We also talk about the counter to that, things that lead to failure. Some pretty interesting things on this first episode of February 2019! Thanks for joining us!

This episode is with 7x NFR qualifying barrel racer, futurity trainer, model, and mom, Angie Meadors. Angie qualified for her first National Finals when she was just 14 in 1990. She made 5 more trips in the '90's and 2 more in 2010-11. She also started her modeling career in that same year (1990) and has done that ever since. You've seen her in MANY ads for Wrangler, Cowgirl Tuff, and others over the years. Smoke show! She's trained some of the greats and has had success at every level of the sport. She's a clinician and has had success teaching the sport as well. She is without a doubt one of the most successful barrel racers to ever compete in the sport. A few years ago, Angie, who's married to 2x PRCA World Champion Heeler, Kolin Van Ahn, gave birth to her daughter. Now as a mother, her life is forever changed and this has obviously carried into her careers. We discuss this and so much more in this really fun conversation. Hope you enjoy it! Be sure to check out and support our phenomenal episode sponsors, Paleo Powder, Epic Leader, and The Lauren Sparks Memorial Barrel Race. See you soon!

Howdy!
This episode is with 5x PRCA Steer Wrestling World Champion, Luke Branquinho. Luke has been an absolute phenom in the rodeo arena amassing almost $3M in his pro rodeo career, 5 Gold Buckles (in 2004, 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2014), and 14 NFR Qualifications. As if his prowess inside the arena wasn't enough, he's also a natural working the microphone in front of a camera. Coming off an injury and easing back into the rodeo game last year, he spent the 2018 NFR as a commentator for the PRCA and CBS Sports on the television broadcast of the Finals and worked the mic for the steer wrestling at The American as well.
First ballot hall of fame shoe in, no doubt. Until then, he's still on the rodeo road and found the time to take a call from us while hauling from his home state of California to Texas for the winter rodeos. He and his wife, Lindsey, have 3 boys (10, 8, 3) and ranch in Los Alamos, CA. We talk about being a father, his super hero/entrepreneur wife, his recovery from injuries, plans for he upcoming rodeo season and so much more. He's awesome. We think you'll think so too. Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening!
