Howdy MwH Fam!
This episode of the show is with barrel racer, Jordan Bassett-Kircher. This Arizona cowgirl grew up in the horse industry. Her family has been in the horse business for decades. Her granddad was a world champion team roper in the 40's. Her dad is a legend in the sport of quarter horse racing; winning the All-American Futurity and training some of the house-hold names in the quarter horse world. Her brother has now began to create his own legacy in the sport as well. Her mom trained colts and like most moms and wives in the horse business has played a large role in the horse operations. I detail this all to highlight the many similarities in Jackie's and Jordan's childhood growing up on the track and learning their craft from amazing horseman. Jordan (Rock'n Barrel Horses) has continued the legacy of her family's winning ways in the barrel horse arena. Still a young trainer and competitor, Jordan has found success on many different horses that she has trained. We talk about Cocomo Jo, Mimis on Firewater, and others she's trained as well as her current crop of colts. We discuss her upbringing in the sport, her favorite Oxy-Gen Equine products, and much more. It was a great convo with an extremely savvy young horsewoman. We hope you enjoy it!

Show Notes:
This episode of Married With Horses was recorded from inside the truck headed to (and from) the pro rodeo in Goliad, Texas. These "Rodeo Road" episodes are a little different in that we don't have a plan or really any agenda except to just talk and record our normal chatter in the truck. This conversation gets random and really goofy at times. If you're easily offended, let me apologize up front. In between the goofiness, we talk about Jackie's recent barrel racing slump and what's she's trying to do to break out of it. We talk about the newly scheduled BBR Futurity in Oklahoma City in December and the new landscape of the barrel racing futurity world. Aside from that it got random and we talked about stuff that you might or might not care about, but we hope it at least puts a little smile on your face. Thanks for hanging out with us!

This episode of the podcast is with pro barrel racer and barrel horse trainer, Kylie Weast. We caught up with Kylie via a phone call while she was at the Elite Futurity in Waco, TX that she will be competing in this weekend. Last weekend she wore her pro rodeo cap as she competed as one of the Top 10 WPRA Invitees from last years National Finals Rodeo, her first to qualify for, at RFD's The American at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. This amazing horse woman comes by it naturally as she is a member of what we affectionally call "The First Family of Barrel Racing." Her grandparents, parents, two sisters, and their families all participate in the sport and have played a pivotal role in what barrel racing and rodeo has become today. We talk about that, her recent trip to The American where she won 2nd on a horse she jumped on for the first time there (Heavenly Firewater), her training and rodeo career, her family, and much more. We were even able to answer a few questions listeners asked on social media about training, selecting a prospect, dealing with mental burn out, and the number one thing that must happen to create solid horses. This was a fun talk with a cowgirl that is a great person and super easy to cheer for. The importance that Kylie places on faith and family show through in how she competes and lives her life. We hope you enjoy the talk.

What's up MwH Family?!?
This episode is with barrel horse trainer, Jennifer Sharp. At the time of the recording of this episode, Jennifer is in the highly coveted position of #1 in the WPRA Professional Rodeo World Standings. She's been collecting checks all over the place in 2019 including a big win at the National Western Stockshow and Rodeo in Denver, CO. and second in Odessa, TX and Fort Worth. She's been crushing it lately and consequently she's put herself in a great position to qualify for some big rodeos like Calgary and possibly even a bid to the NFR. She's a South Texas cowgirl and has grown up around us so we've been able to follow her career for a while now. In 2009 she married her husband, best friend, and the other half of Sharp Performance Horses, Robbie Sharp. He's been monumentally influential in her career and success over the last decade. We discuss his role in her life, about her whirlwind season, as well as many other things on this episode. Hope you enjoy it!
