My guest on the show this week, Dr Beth DuPree is at the cutting edge of this.

Dr. Beth DuPree is a board-certified general surgeon specialising in diseases of the breast. She is also a Healer and a master-level Reiki practitioner. 

In this episode, we talk about the importance of treating the physical body AND the spiritual body and how healing is all connected.

She also speaks about how treating diseases including chronic conditions is not just about treating the physical symptoms. We tackle how:

• Stimulating the vagus nerve and breathwork can be a powerful source of Healing.
• Integrating healing therapies including yoga, meditation, life coaching, and even grief counseling is part of  
• Assisted use of psychedelics can be therapeutic and the difference between taking it recreationally and doing it under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner.
• We are at the cusp of discovering how psychedelics can be used outside of just post-cancer care to help the body reach homeostasis and how research is important to prove the efficacy of these treatments to extend the reach of the science to a larger population outside of cancer care.

Beth beautifully integrates the use of medical and spiritual practices, as she puts it  "are all tools in our toolbox" that we can use to heal the body and the mind. 

Over the past few decades, there has been a growing interest in the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, such as psilocybin (found in certain species of mushrooms) and MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy). Numerous studies have shown promising results in treating mental health conditions like depression, PTSD, and addiction.

Certain regions have already taken steps toward decriminalising or legalising psychedelics for therapeutic purposes. For example, in 2020, the state of Oregon in the United States passed Measure 109, which allows for the regulated use of psilocybin-assisted therapy. Other jurisdictions, such as Canada and some European countries, have approved or are exploring similar initiatives.
