Today, we speak to Melissa Leong. Melissa is one of Australia’s most beloved food writers and TV personalities. In 2020, she was the first female judge on MasterChef Australia, joining Andy Allen and Jock Zonfrillo, and she has just released her memoir, GUTS – where she bares her truth for the first time.

In this conversation, Melissa speaks about the day she got the call-up for Masterchef, and the subsequent success that followed, the reality of being a woman in the hospitality industry, and how she’s processed the shame she has carried, years after being sexually assaulted, and why her previous marriage fell apart.
