TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of sexual assault
Hey ya’ll thanks for tuning into another episode of the bittersweet podcast. This week we were joined by Tigist (@thecolouredtherapist) & Nasalifiya (@polapsychology) two amazing young women of colour to speak on mental health in the black community. Tigist who works as a councillor and Nasalifia who works as a clinical psychologist and has opened up her own practice (Pola psychology) have an abundance of knowledge and expertise and have been generous enough to share their insights with us for this episode. We will be discussing a range of topics including the difference between mental health and mental illnesses, socioeconomic factors that affect mental health, vulnerability vs. resilience and the influence religion and spirituality has on mental health. As always, we will be keeping things real, relevant and relatable!
