  • 304 | Choosing to Forgive

On today’s episode of Mercy Talk, we’re especially excited that you’ve joined us as we dive

into the key, “Choosing to Forgive.” Many of our biggest
issues and deepest struggles in life are rooted in a painful event. And more times
than not, that event was connected to a relationship, to a person. Therefore, the topic of
forgiveness is unavoidable. While it may feel impossible in our own strength, God designed
forgiveness to actually lead to healing and freedom through His supernatural design. Join us
today as we talk about this significant key and how it plays a pivotal role in our healing
    journey.

  • 303 | Healing Life’s Hurts

In this episode of Mercy Talk, we’ll discuss a pivotal key to freedom – Healing Life’s Hurts. When the

hurts of our lives go unhealed, they affect us in ways that we may not even realize. They can cause us
to hold back from life or operate from a place of fear. They can come out through anger or bitterness
and shape who we become as spouses, friends, parents, and coworkers. Through this key, we invite
the Lord into the hurts of our lives, ask for His perspective, and allow Him to do the healing that only
HE is able to do so that our hurts are no longer allowed to impact our lives in destructive ways. Join us
    today for this important conversation!

  • 302 | Renewing the Mind

In this episode of Mercy Talk, we’ll discuss what some consider to be the most pivotal key in the Keys to Freedom study: Renewing the Mind. Whether we realize it or not, our daily thought patterns are affected by a belief system that was primarily cultivated in our earliest childhood years – a belief system about God, ourselves, others, and the world around us. Over time, our thought patterns develop well-worn “trails” in our minds, and it’s this belief system that eventually determines our daily behaviors, words, and attitudes. Join us today for this important conversation!

  • 301 | Commitment and Connection to Christ

In this week’s episode of MercyTalk, we’re going to be moving into the first of the seven keys to freedom and this one is really what we would call the “master key”. We’re talking about Committing and Connecting to Christ!  It’s so easy for us to become distracted with whether or not we look like we have it all together but Jesus invites us to view freedom and wholeness from a different perspective as an inside job that starts at the root level of our lives. Join us today as we consider what it means to be free from the inside out!

how we can better serve those who are struggling. If you’ve been around Mercy for a while, you know we are BIG believers in addressing the root of the problem rather than just the visible behaviors of a life-controlling issue.

Join us today as we re-visit this very important conversation with Melanie, Rachael, and Dr. Brooke Keels, PhD, LPC-MHSP, LPC-S.

    Also, in this episode…

    • The importance of inner healing rather than just managing behavior
    • Helpful ways to start hard conversations with those who are struggling
    • Mistaken Beliefs beliefs surrounding eating disorders

    • 298 | Self-Injury Awareness Day

On this very important episode of Mercy Talk, we wanted to take some time to shed light on what

can often be a misunderstood topic: self-injury/harm. We want to encourage you that this episode is
meant to be a resource in your journey in helping others, but it is by no means exhaustive. March 1 st  is
“National Self-Injury Awareness Day,” so, we wanted to spend some time talking about this issue that
can feel very complex, as well as some ways you can better love and support those around you who
are struggling with self-harm.  Also, in this episode…

      • The importance of not projecting our own discomforts/fears on those who are sharing their
      • struggles with us
      • Questions to ask if we’re concerned someone is self-harming
      • Owning our unique role in helping others and referring them when we need to

      • 297 | People Fuel Part 2

We’re so glad you’ve joined us for another episode of Mercy Talk! This week, we are pumped to

continue diving into the topic of relationships and a book by one of our favorite authors, Dr. John
Townsend, called People Fuel. While most of us know that relationships are critical to being a healthy
and whole human, most of us are unaware of the fact that we need specific types of relationship in
order to have longevity in helping others and growing in our calling. In other words, output is not the
same as input when it comes to relationships and we must be re-filled ourselves in order to prevent
burnout. Join us today as we talk about the types of people we need to seek out for our “inner circle”
and how they re-fuel us in God designed ways we may have never thought about! Also, in this episode…

        • The need for grace and honesty in the relationships that refuel us
        • Practical ways to seek out these key people
        • How shame tries to discourage us in reaching out for help

        • 296 | People Fuel Part 1

We’re so glad you’ve joined us for another episode of Mercy Talk! For the next 2 weeks, we are pumped

to dive into a topic that has been spearheaded by one of our favorite authors, Dr. John Townsend and
his book, People Fuel! While most of us know that relationships are critical to being a healthy and whole
human, most of us are unaware of the fact that we need specific types of relationship in order to have
longevity in helping others and growing in our calling. In other words, output is not the same as input
when it comes to relationships and we must be re-filled ourselves in order to prevent burnout. Join us
today as we talk about the necessity of relationships and how they re-fuel us in God designed ways we
may have never thought about! Also, in this episode…

          • Why you cannot have relationships that truly re-fuel you without vulnerability
          • The importance of practicing what we preach to others
          • Why we need relationships that consist of more than our family and spouse

          • 295 | Steps to Intimacy with God Part 2

If you’ve been around Mercy for a while, then you know we’re huge fans of all things

practical…especially when it comes to our relationship with the Lord. If you’re new to Mercy then
you’re about to find out just how practical because we’re jumping into a 2-part series called “Steps to
Intimacy with God”! While our culture has trained us to think that intimacy is sex, that’s not where
we’re headed. The definition of the word is actually “close familiarity or friendship,” and that’s exactly
what we’re talking about: CLOSENESS with God or a FRIENDSHIP with God. We wanted to take a
deeper look at what leads to the familiarity and closeness we long for in a relationship with the Lord.
Today, we’ll dive into the second part of this conversation and cover steps 3-5 that you can implement
in your own walk with God! Also, in this episode…

            • Trusting the personhood and promises of God in the face of disappointment
            • Learning to see ourselves the same way God sees us
            • Being vulnerable and honest with the One who made us
