Welcome to Episode 29! This week we bring you a Spooky Season themed Q&A where we’ll be answering listener submitted questions, and debunking wellness myths.
Devon kicks us off by demystifying Friday the 13th, discussing the history of this day. She explains how Friday the 13th was considered the Day of the Goddess, a day to worship the Divine Feminine within all of us. The number 13 is meaningful because there are 13 moon cycles in a year, and women experience an average of 13 menstrual cycles annually. She further explains how Feminine energy represents beauty, recognizing and appreciating the beauty in all things, it’s also honoring the cycles, phases of our lives, out emotions, the transformation that happens when we allow it to. Honoring the Divine Feminine within each one of us. *EDIT* When discussing Friday the 13th, Heather misspoke stating that Jesus had 13 disciples, when he actually had 12. What she meant by this was referencing the Christian roots that hold the number 13 is unlucky. Some believe that the number 13 is unlucky because Judas, a person said to have betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest at the Last Supper. Others believe that there were in fact 13 Disciples, this number including Mary Magdalene, which ties in the Feminine aspect of Friday the 13th.
Heather and Devon use research cited below to answer all of your wellness questions. Tune in while they talk about all things mind, body, and soul wellness while referencing Dr. Joe DiSpenza, the light and dark sides of spirituality, epigenetics, sobriety, and of course mindfulness.
