Dressing up is a form of imaginative play for kids. Imaginative play boosts problem-solving and self-regulation skills. Dress-up encourages creative thinking and communication skills. Yet as adults we dress up all our lives BUT for the wrong reasons. To impress, to follow trends, and to gain acknowledgment. All our efforts are focused on external validation. What if we choose to dress up based on our needs, our likes, our desires, our comfort outside of society’s norms or expectations or trends. What would your wardrobe look like if it truly represented yourSELF?
