Chapter 1: The more people who are infected with COVID-19, the higher the likelihood of variants like the ones we’ve seen out of South Africa and the UK.  This is one aspect of preventing transmission we don’t talk about as much, but it’s these new variants that are throwing vaccine efficacy into question.

Chapter 2: More testimony at the Cullen Commission this week, former watchdog Robert Kroeker spoke about the revelations he heard on day one at the BC Lottery Corporation.  Global News Investigative Journalist Sam Cooper joins us with more this morning.

Chapter 3: ICBC insurance is about to get a whole lot cheaper if their online calculator is any indicator.  The tool was unveiled yesterday to give people an idea of how changes to the public insurance provider will affect their premiums.

Chapter 5: When you hear about surging stock prices you might think of companies like Tesla, but a series of disruptions on the market right now appear to be connected to a grassroots movement of investors who are coordinating online.

Chapter 6: New travel restrictions are expected out of Ottawa later this week, but it’s unclear exactly what those are going to look like.  The National Airlines Council of Canada has been sounding the alarm as their industry has been among the hardest hit, and this isn’t going to help either.

Chapter 1: Health coalitions from 7 provinces are calling on the federal government for more healthcare support. They’re saying the gradual decline in how much the feds put into provincial healthcare has been especially damaging during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chapter 2: Concern is growing over the spread of COVID-19 variants here in BC. We now have multiple cases of the South African variant which appears to be more transmissible than other existing strains.

Chapter 3: This story has been getting a lot of attention, two Vancouver residents chartered a flight to the Yukon to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in a remote community.  The man was the former CEO of Great Canadian Gaming, the woman is his wife, a young Russian actress.

Chapter 4: The COVID-19 variants in BC are becoming a more serious concern as more cases of the UK and South African variants continue to be discovered.  So what if a high-transmission variant takes off?

Chapter 5: What would you do if you couldn’t ‘Google it’?  Google is so pervasive that the name of the company has actually become a verb, but they’ve come under increased scrutiny around the world in recent years due in large part to their global presence.  The company is threatening to pull their services from Australia where lawmakers are pressuring them to be more accountable.
