Chapter 1: Back to business in Ottawa today as the house of commons will return to business after the Christmas break.  Global News Chief Political Correspondent David Akin joins us to break down what’s going to top the agenda.

Chapter 2: Premier John Horgan abruptly shut down the idea of closing our borders in an effort to prevent more cases of the virus from coming into BC last week.  Meanwhile, researchers are attributing the low number of cases on the East Coast to the “Atlantic Bubble”, they even had armed conservation officers on a bridge between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia!

Chapter 4: Indigenous cultures are often fighting an uphill battle when it comes to their traditions, but new technology has unexpectedly provided an outlet for Indigenous artists.

Chapter 5: The existence of a study wasn’t widely publicized and the provincial government claims they always planned to release it - but that wasn’t really announced until journalists started asking questions about why it had been kept back.

Chapter 6: At this point Larry King has far transcended celebrity, he really became a cultural institution, famous for those suspenders.  King passed away at 87 this weekend, after decades hosting Larry King Live.

Chapter 7: Today marks the first diagnosed COVID19 case in Canada.  The patient was a man in his 50s who had travelled from Wuhan, China.  He was treated at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Chapter 1: In the wake of the riots at the US Capitol, the Liberal government is revising a plan to regulate social media.

Chapter 2: Details are limited but Governor General Julie Payette has resigned her appointment amid allegations of harassment from staff members.  Joining us to talk about the circumstances surrounding her departure we have Global News Chief Political Correspondent David Akin.

Chapter 3: The Tokyo Olympics are in limbo as Japanese officials say they’re determined to go ahead.  Meanwhile, the Canadian men’s team is facing fines for refusing to play during the pandemic. The olympic basketball trials were scheduled to be held in Victoria in June, but no word on what will become of that yet.

Chapter 4: The big news today of course is the press conference from the provincial government scheduled for 10:30 this morning.  They’re presenting the new vaccine rollout plan after Pfizer announced that shipments of their COVID-19 vaccines were delayed.

Chapter 1: After four years of somewhat chaotic leadership south of the border, what can we expect from our largest trading partner in the next four years?

Chapter 4: We’re seeing a record number of overdose calls to Emergency Health Services right now, and it’s not just in Vancouver.  A mix of drugs that make the life-saving Naloxone less effective are spreading in northern B-C, resulting in a health alert for the region.

Chapter 5: The provincial government has been public about considering a ban on all travel from outside of the province, but the window for that to be effective may be closing.

Chapter 6: Only around 100,000 B-C residents have received a COVID-19 vaccine - and that’s just the first shot!  We’re expecting a big press conference tomorrow with more information about how the province is adjusting after news that deliveries of the Pfizer vaccine delivery have been delayed.
