Chapter 1: The Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine was administered in Quebec for the first time yesterday.  That news came as we learned about the first delivery of about 4,000 doses here in British Columbia. Health officials say the first injections will be for healthcare workers in the Lower Mainland and they’ll begin in a matter of days.

Chapter 2: Niki wanted to buy stamps yesterday to send some Christmas cards but the store was all sold out!  Canada Post is pushing up its deadline this year for when you must have packages mailed by. This is in response to what they expect will be heavier than normal demand on the postal system. Make sure your gifts are in the mail by December 16!

Chapter 3: Will ICBC actually be giving out rebates and lowering their rates?

Chapter 4: A massively popular winter destination in Kelowna is asking police for help enforcing COVID-19 regulations.  Two cases of COVID-19 were reported among the staff at Big White, in spite of all the regulations in place right now.

Chapter 5: Let’s talk about a campaign to raise awareness for Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor who have now been detained in China for over two years.  Kevin Garratt is a Canadian who lived there for decades before he was arbitrarily detained for almost two years back in 2014. He’s one of the people behind the campaign and he’s here this morning to talk about how it works.

Chapter 1: Doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine officially arrived in Canada yesterday.  Who are some of the first recipients of the vaccine?

Chapter 3: Many of us won’t have the opportunity to spend the holidays with family this year like we normally would.  Well that’s still better than the situation many migrant workers are facing. Some opted to stay here over the winter because they didn’t know what the new year might bring, others weren't allowed to return home due to travel restrictions.

Chapter 4: A major announcement from the federal government going into the weekend that we need to talk about.  They announced a big increase to the federal carbon tax, it’s going to go up every year until 2030.  So what does that mean here in BC where the provincial government implemented our own carbon tax YEARS ago?

Chapter 5: More Canadians want the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible according to new polling from the Angus Reid Institute.  The first doses arrived yesterday, and the number of people who want the shot right away has increased from past months.
