If I woke up tomorrow as my 23-year-old self, knowing everything I know now, would I still move abroad?
It is one of the biggest questions I ask myself from time to time. And today I am answering it honestly.
This episode is a little different. There is no step-by-step guide or checklist. Instead, I am getting personal about what it has actually been like to build a life abroad, what I would do exactly the same, what I would change, and what surprised me in ways I never expected.
Here is what we are covering:
- The biggest wins that made moving abroad one of the best decisions I have ever made
- The things that genuinely surprised me that nobody warned me about
- What I would do differently if I could start over
- Whether I would still choose London or whether another city might have been a better fit
- The hardest question of all — would I still leave America?
- What I would tell my 23-year-old self before she got on that plane
And at the end of it all I am coming back to the big question. Would I move abroad again?
If moving abroad is not a perfect life, but it is a bigger life, a more adventurous life, and a life that helped me grow into someone I never would have become otherwise then what is your answer?
Here is the question I want to leave you with. 5 years from now, which decision are you more likely to regret? Trying it? Or always wondering what would have happened if you had?
I would love to hear from you. Send me an email at [email protected] and tell me where you are at in your own journey.
