Ireland experienced decades of pain and suffering, with two major events causing a mass exodus in the country, the Famine and The Troubles.

During The Troubles, car, home and business bombings were the usual and people were murdered daily, while the fight between the two sides of the Island fought.

The only escape that citizens had was music. Dance halls and nightclubs around the country were filled nightly with more than 700 showbands touring during the 1960s-1980s.

One band, the Miami Showband, was very popular and was known to please everyone, as they did not have any religious or political messages in their music and the band was formed with Catholics and Protestants, and Republican-born or Northern Ireland-born members, showing that unity was possible.

Until one night when they were stopped by authorities for what they thought was the British Army when things exploded and many labelled that event as the "night that the music died in Ireland".

Rubin Carter was born the 4th of 7 children in a strict household and became a headache for his father at an early age. By his teenage years he was in a boys home which he escaped from a year before turning 18, joining the US Army.

During his service, Rubin found a love for boxing and had many fights, hoping to obtain pro-status once he was discharged.

But the state had other ideas and once Rubin was done with service, he was arrested and made to complete the remaining time from the boys home, in prison. Upon release 10 months later, he was jailed again almost immediately because of a purse snatching incident, spending the next 4 years angry and concentrating on his skills.

Once out, Rubin finally became a professional boxer, earning his nickname “Hurricane”, thanks to his lightening-fast punches that were hard-hitting. He gained quite a reputation and record but things all changed one night in 1966, when Rubin went out drinking on the wrong night.

Teresa Bean dropped out of high school at the age of 16 and married a man from her church, who she quickly had a child with in the mid-1980s. But the couple struggled and quickly part ways, leaving Teresa to raise her daugther Christie as a single mother.

Teresa had a string of low-paying jobs around Danville, Virginia, before finally finding work at the Dan River Textile Mill, where she met Julian Lewis, who was a recently widowed father of three.

The pair quickly started dating and then got married but tragedy struck when Julian’s oldest son died in a car accident. He received a payout from the life insurance policy and then was named primary on his second son’s policy, right as CJ was about to head off to Iraq to serve. Teresa was named as the secondary.

That’s when Teresa met Matthew & Rodney at the local Wal-Mart. Quickly, Teresa & Matthew began a relationship and eventually she asked for his help to ensure she became primary on CJ’s life insurance policy.

Dr. Harold Perelson and his wife Lillian, lived in a gorgeous mansion with their three children, Judye, Joel & Debby, in the 1950s. The property, located in Los Feliz, California was the envy of many and the family thought it would be there forever home.

But then, a patent that Dr. Harold was working on was stolen by his business partner and the children were all involved in a car wreck around the same time, leaving a mountain of medical bills and attorney's fees, since Dr. Harold sued his business partner & the driver of the other car, trying to recover money from both incidents.

But what we recovered was barely a portion of the amount spent to re-coop the family's losses, and eventually the family fell into financial woes.

On December 6, 1959, Dr. Harold put forth a plan to get the entire family out of debt and after that night, the house remained basically untouched for the next 60 years.

The Papin Sisters had a sad upbringing, with an unaffectionate and jealous mother and an alcoholic and all around abusive father. All three spent sometime in an orphanage or with other family members, and ultimately Emilia exited the story altogether when she moved into a convent.

But Christine & younger sister Lea went into the workforce, finding work with the Lancelin family, who they would go on to work for over the next 6 years. The 20-year-olds barely spoke to anyone, even each other, were good workers, though Christine was known for outbursts from time-to-time. Lea on the other hand, was so docile it was hard to remember she wasn't just an extension of her sister.

However, one night, these quiet and obedient women were found naked in bed together, covered in blood, while two bodies laid in the hallway a couple floors below.
