Jarbidge, Nevada is an isolated community 10 miles south of the Idaho/Nevada border. It’s always been a small town, but in the 1900s it was about 65 miles away from any connection to the outside world, less the US Mail Stagecoach that ran round trip for the town.

In 1916, the town became famous as the site of the last known stagecoach robbery in the United States History, but unfortunately this tale ended with murder instead of just a robbery of $4,000 of the mining company’s payroll.

Marty Puccio & Bobby Kent were best friends, though apparently had a violent relationship, with Bobby sending Marty home with cuts and bruises many times.

Nevertheless, the two stayed friends throughout all of high school and into their early 20s, even attempting to set up a business together.

But things changed when Marty got a girlfriend named Lisa, who didn’t approve of his relationship with Bobby. Lisa tried everything to break up this friendship, to no avail, and finally decided that drastic measures were required.

Jeffrey MacDonald was a well-educated and popular person in high school, college and during med school, who married his high school sweetheart, Collette.

Collette quickly gave birth to two children shortly after the couple married and found herself pregnant with their third, around the same time that Jeffrey joined the Army and was to be deployed to Vietnam.

The family got the best Christmas present that year when it was determined that Jeffrey wasn’t going to be deployed, but in February 1970 everything came crashing down for the MacDonald family, after a one fateful night.

Carl Drega was a recluse, who spent the majority of time on his property, building and constructing different structures. He lived there with his wife, Rita, beside the river in Columbia, New Hampshire for several years, before Rita got cancer and passed away.

Carl had struggle after struggle with the town, believing that they were the true cause of Rita’s death, and fought back at every citation and denial he was given for construction.

Soon, he started putting a woman named Vicki, as the face of his issues with the town, and started spending time lurking outside her house at night.

This went on for years, before Carl felt like he needed to take a final stance against the town and for “once”, show them what it mean to “live free or die”.

Jose Menendez was born in Cuba in the 1940s, arriving in the United States after the Cuban Revolution and succeeding to become the American Dream, by scoring a swimming scholarship to school and then becoming a wealthy business man.

He and his wife had two children, Lyle & Erik, who they wanted to give everything to but who they also wanted to instill life values into.

But Lyle & Erik weren’t business minded like their father and hated the rules he put in place and loathed having to rely on him for money, so they made a few choices to come into money FAST.
