Saul C. Nava, a 24-year-old California man, was convicted of nine felonies, including murder, torture, and kidnapping, for the death of his girlfriend, Alisen Takacs-Escobar, who was found tortured and tattooed with degrading words. Nava was arrested at the couple's apartment after calling 911 for medical assistance. The investigation revealed that Nava had previously tortured other girlfriends, including confining one to a closet, repeatedly beating her, and threatening her with a knife. Nava also allegedly convinced a pregnant 17-year-old girlfriend to get an abortion after physically abusing her. The evidence against Nava included videos he made of Takacs-Escobar while she was injured and baseball bats, a hammer, and a screwdriver found in the apartment.
