We can choose to do this today. Against the enemy when he attacks at work, in traffic, at home. With the doctor reports, with the bank statements. When you feel your faith shake, remember that your faith is a shield. And you have other protective elements to help you remember who’s you are.

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Romans 3:19-24 which says “19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. "

This is Episode 451 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast 

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 3:13-17  which says “13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. 14 But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

"We have some takeaways today. We need to remember that when we mark dates in our calendar for God, we can’t be surprised when we are attacked. It comes with it. Rather than avoiding the attack, let’s learn to recognize his tactics. Who and what does he use in our individual lives to try and knock us down? Because what tempts me might not be the same for you. 

The second thing is, we must remember the enemy is scared of who we are on the other side of the water. When we publicly declare our faith he shakes. He knows that is one more person he lost, which makes him one step closer to losing."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Romans 8:35-39 in The Message version which says "31-39 So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? And who would dare tangle with God by messing with one of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
 We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.

None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us."
