"In order to chose to love the ones closest to us, I hope we make two decisions. The first is to be active, present, and vulnerable when connecting. Try and view them through the lens of grace we spoke about. The second is to pay attention to their love language and to do a better job of loving the person in their preferred language."

The kind that is impossible to explain, but the real radical thing is, when we start attempting to love on others the way Jesus does, we start to see the world through a new lens. The lens of grace and it is in those moments that we can see the true works of heaven right here on earth. "

We find rest in Him, we find love, strength, mercy, protection, healing in Him. May we trust and not be afraid."

"When I think of Jehovah Nissi, I think of the parade of pots and pans. Imagine if an entire city took to the streets and made all of the noise possible to celebrate Jesus in their life. 

It’s not socially acceptable, but man I wish it was. The lord is our banner. I wish we could all scream at the top of our lungs for anyone and everyone to hear. May everyone know what team we support. May everyone see the banner of Christ in our life and know that He has done a work in us and for us. May they see the fruit of our lives and know it was all because of Jesus. 

I know we can’t all hit our posts and pans, but we can extend his love. We can wear him as a banner over our hearts and serve His people so they may know Him. :"

"We can come to him for anything. We can cry out and tell him about our struggles. We can vent about school, or work. We can cry and say why, why am I stuck in this season. Why am I still single, why haven’t you given my a child. 

Parents want the best for their children. They make us work for certain things. They discipline but ultimately they want the best for us. They want us to succeed. Often times they surprise us or spoil us. 

Our father is no different. There are seasons in life where we cry out thank you father! Thank you for all that you’ve give me. There are seasons when we have more than enough and overcome with emotion."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Judges 6:24  which says " “Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it, The Lord Is Peace”.

"Peace be with you. Such power words. Simple but life changing. A lot of the times we are handed cards we didn’t want. We are given situations and circumstances that make us say, I do not understand why II am walking through this valley Lord. How much longer I really cannot take it any more.

We serve a God who is our Jehovah Shalom, He is the true full embodiment of peace. 

 And He lives in you. So if we were to look at all of the cards we’ve been handed and we look at them through the lens of peace, I think we could make life more enjoyable. Imagine having the full confidence that He is who He says He is and He promises to give us Peace."

This is Episode 441 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast 

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Genesis 17:1 which says " When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty ; walk before me faithfully and be blameless."

"Why do we say thank you, why do we smile when we get “bad news”, why do we shake off bad medical reports, why do we find joy in the little things? The answer is simple, we do not serve bad reports, or job rejections, we service El Shaddai - the Lord Almighty. 

Hillsong has a song called Love so Great and the lyrics say “You are the lord almighty, out shinning all the stars in glory, your love is like the wildest ocean, oh nothing can compare.”

Yes, doctor reports can be scary, and yes after going through four rounds of interview only to hear you weren’t right for the job can be defeating, but nothing in this world can compare to the Lord we serve. 

So let me remind you and really let me remind any circumstance, any mountain, any speed bump you are facing - we serve The Lord Almighty, meaning nothing can get in our way of gratitude, joy, and the love we share for Him and His creation."

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

God is a provider. He will always provide. He is Jehovah Jireh. I am not sure what you need, but pray to your provider. He will give you the financial resource, the health, the job, the family, the breakthrough. He provides, all that we need. We are so blessed to have a father like Him."
