Today we are reading out of 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 which says "So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

"Time will keep going, but something beautiful awaits us at the end of our long years. Hope beyond the grace. It was Billy Graham who said it:

“For the believer there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door to heaven for us by His death and resurrection.” 

Sometimes we feel like we are met with the grave in different seasons. That’s what this last month has been for me. Between the car accident, and then the rough week I had last week at home - you all know I sounded defeated. But this time spent together in the mornings helps us all put on the posture of gratitude, it helps is put on the armor of God, and it helps us lean on our faith, in the peace that transcends all understanding, and it gives us hope that as we get older and wiser, the best is still yet to come."

Today we are reading out of John 5:19 which says "Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner."

"A change to change. 

Thats what Jesus did for us and continues to do for us. Over and over again He gives us a change to change. In all situations we have the opportunity to grow more Christ like, and change. We can better our outcomes, we can better our situations if we take him on the offer at a chance to change. 

We get to model His ways in the way He has taught us, in the ways of the father. 

We have unlimited power at our disposal, because we have a father with unlimited potential. 

I hope today, we all take the opportunity to change our situations, our outcomes, and truly take in all of the joys of the Lord."

12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

"...We don’t have to feel shame, He took that to the grave. We just get to acknowledge that we all fall short of perfection, and that Jesus is our friend. He sits with us, and walks with us, he talks to us. He is there when we eat, and when we sleep. He is our friend. "

Today we are reading out of John 15:26 which says "But when the helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, e will bear witness about me."

"The Holy Spirit is our wonderful counselor. It’s the voice of righteousness. The one that convicts us. 

Yesterday I dropped off my car at the Enterprise Car Rental. The time has finally come to pick up my car following the car accident I had a few weeks ago. Something deep inside told me to look on the passenger door for anything I may have forgotten and I ignored it. 

I came home and my sister asked me if I checked the passenger door because she had forgotten her eye glasses case. 

In an instant I thought about the voice and how I ignored it. I wonder how many times the Holy Spirit is directing me and I ignore him on a daily basis. Today I pray I lean into our counselor just a little more. May we hear from him when we speaks, when we guides, and nudges."

Today we are reading out of  Isaiah 9:6 which says "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

"...Rather than look to the world and the darkness that is consuming, I look to the one that promises peace. John 14:27 says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

We are getting ready to celebrate the birth of Christ. This is a beautiful season and we must never let the outside world ruin the faith that we have. We must never let it steal our joy. I know it’s easier sad than done, trust me. I cried for 48 hours and I don’t expect this week to be easy for me. But just because something is hard, doesn’t mean that His burden isn’t light. Today I give it to Christ. I have done everything I can and now I give my father to my heavenly father. 

I don’t know what is stealing your peace. But we all have something. I want to leave you with this. 

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7"

Today we are reading out of  Isaiah 7:14 which says "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel."

"Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

Matthew 1:22-23 

Jesus is our Immanuel, He came to earth from heaven, and he was God with us. 

The greatest part of our faith is that we have a father who is with us, not just when he walked the earth so long ago, but right here and now. He walks with us, He guides us, He dreams with us. He is pushes us, and nudges us. He opens doors, and He closes them. He does what is best for us. 

So today, remember that God is with us, God is with you. What ever you are facing just take a moment and repeat Immanuel, Immanuel, Immanuel God with us. "

Today we are reading out of John 1:14 which says "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

"He came so that we could see the word, the truth, the way, in person. If you are a visual learner, this was especially for you. His life was a testament to how we should live. 

We don’t say “Jesus make me more like you” so that our breath runs out. We say “Jesus make me more like you” so that we can walk in the way of the word. "

"God appears to us everyday, and I would hope we understand that we don’t have to hold our breaths for that. We don’t have to keep this hope to ourselves, no we can do the opposite. We can tell everyone we know that God is going to be there for us tomorrow, just as He was there for us today. 

Let us press on today. Let us lean in closer, let us be thankful that our God is unlike a fluctuating market, or a side venture, He is consistent, He shows up, He never misses a day. He doesn’t fail. He never has and He never will. This is the God we serve. "
