Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Job 22:27 which says "You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows."

"When we pray, He hears us. I know most of our prayers are the same. We are human and although we are all different we all struggle with similar problems. We all pray for strength when we need it. We pray for protection when we need it. We pray for the words when we don’t have them. We pray for a miracle when we are desperate. We pray for the impossible because we know with Him it’s possible.

 

God always knows what we need, remember that prayer is more for us than it is for Him. Prayer gives you the confidence that you are covered in His protection.

 

So pray today and fulfill your vows. Cut those destructive habits. Surrender your anxiety and cast your worries. He can take it. He made the universe.

 

When you pray everyday something amazing will happen. Your life will change forever because of it. That doesn’t mean you won’t go through tough times, it only means that no matter what happens you know that God is with you. He has his hand over your life and you are covered in His protection."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Ephesians 4:31-12 which says "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

"As I got older I started to appreciate the sun light more and watching the sun set at 6 is always a little shocking. It's always darkest the first night. After a while we get used to it. Our bodies adjust and we no loner feel so tired when the sun is down. 

 

That is a picture of bitterness. When someone offends you, and you hold onto that it's always darkest on the first night. After awhile you get used to it. Before you know it your body has adjusted to holding all that resentment and anger inside. 

 

We have to learn how to let things go. As you go about your day today, take notice of the people and incidents you are holding onto. If there is any poison inside of you, let it go. It's not worth holding onto. The only one getting hurt is you. 

 

I heard a sermon the other day that talked about not only forgiving the people around us, but that we should be forgiving our selves. Forgive yourself for whatever you did. Forgive yourself for getting to where you are today. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you made years ago. Stop holding onto poison. Our Father has already forgiven us for those things. It's time we let it go so that we can live a life without bounds."

"Let's start learning how to step away for a day rather than starting again. 

 

I love this verse. It's a beautiful gift God gave us. He didn't just create a rule for us to have to follow. He gave us the gift of slowing down and not working at least once a week so that we can surrender our worries, our works, our plans to Him. If you can't take a full day, take 6 hours, or take an hour. The point is to honor your time and to spend it wisely.

 

God can do so much more with your 6 days than you can do with 7. If you step away from your ongoing problems and messes and projects, you'll come back with a renewed sense of clarity."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Deuteronomy 31:8 which says "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

"This verse also talks about discouragement. Fear and discouragement are two horns on the same bull. It is why these two words are found together verse after verse. 

 

When you become discouraged, it really takes a toll on your emotional health. It's hard to see the light. Discouragement is essentially loss of hope. When the enemy steals our hope, that is when he has us. 

 

This can be said in our personal lives, as well as in our nations, and our globe. We cannot become discouraged by what we see happening around us. The same way God promises he goes before us, and that he will be with us. He will do the same for our nations, for our globe. 

 

Do not fear, instead, submit your worries, your discouragements, and your destructive habits to God. Let him fix it for you. Stop opening doors that were not intended for you. Instead, wait on Him. If He goes before us, it means all we have to do is follow Him. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 1 Peter 2:9 which says "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

"I am trying to show you how essentially special you are to God, but also how selfless and wonderful He is.  

We are his chosen people. The ones he wants to spend eternity with. He loves us. He helps us when we need it. He called us out of darkness. Just remember where you were before you truly got to know Him. Remember how lonely you were. Remember those destructive thoughts. He called you out of that so you may live boldly today.  

I pray today we do just that. Today we commit to living boldly. We commit to praising God in our every actions. That means giving with out fear of losing. It means walking in the confidence that you truly understand your identity which is a Child of God. It means taking back your joy from those that stole it - including the news, and social media. It means slowing down and finding 30 minutes to just get alone with Him. Try it! Today can be the day your life changes. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Joshua 1:9 which says "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

"When our plans don't go as we hoped, it's easy to feel discouraged. When you take a beating a work day in and day out it's easy to become discouraged. When you look at all of your friends having children, and you are still struggling, it's easy to feel discouraged. 

 

Every single day presents itself with new obstacles that can paralyze us in fear, or discouragement. 

 

Oh but this verse gives us hope. It promises us that the Lord, will be with us wherever we go. 

 

We can become so distant at times. We can run far away. Feel inadequate. Let that self harming voice creep it's way in. We can stop serving those around us. We can start seeking attention in other things, but God will be there. At all times. 

 

There's no point in running. He will be there. So don't turn away from him. Turn towards him. Everyday we get the opportunity to step boldly into His promises for us. He promises a future. He promises us light in darkness. He promises us life more abundant. He promises us shelter, and refuge. He promises to fight our battles for us. 

 

He can do all things. Therefore we can do all things through Him. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 112:4 which says "A light shines in the dark for those who are good, for those who are merciful, kind, and fair." 

"A life with Jesus doesn't mean we get a free pass on earth. We aren’t exempt from pain. We aren’t exempt from quote on quote going through it. 

 

Being kind and fair may not get us a free pass to live life pain free, but it gives us something greater. 

 

It gives us a light in the darkness, and a hope to hold onto. It gives us a different perspective of pain. It humbles us. It makes us remember that we can't do this life on our own. 

 

You might be in the dark. You might be going through a tough season. You might have just gotten through one. 2020 was a tough year on a lot of us. But don't lose your will to be a good person. Society will tell us that it's easier to live a self-serving life. Society tells you to worry about yourself. Society tells you to drown your problems in other substances. It's all one big fat lie. 

 

Jesus didn't promise us being good was easy. But being good and being kind is the medicine you need. So don't lose your will to be good. Commit to being good. Care for others. Extend grace, extend kindness. Even when your world is falling apart. Because the next time you are in a dark place, if you look to Jesus, you'll find a light shinning on you."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which says "13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 14 Do everything in love."

"Be On Your Guard - take notice of the things around you. Look at what is happening. I saw some one post on IG the other day, to be informed but do not be formed by society. Don't be formed by the opinions of this world or of others. Look to the word when you need wisdom. Seek Jesus when you don't know what to do. 

 

Stand Firm - Stand firm in your faith. Stand firm in your gratitude. Stand firm in the love of God. I was talking to a friend yesterday and she said she is thankful each morning because she GETS to live this life with Jesus. Every morning His mercies are new and get GET to live life after His heart.

 

Be Courageous - Have courage. Chase those dreams. Go after your calling in life. Visit that place and immerse yourself in where God is calling you. Walk through God doors boldly. Embrace all that He has for you. But it takes faith. Active faith. 

 

Be Strong - Life knocks us down. Know that the Holy Spirit lives inside you and the strength you need to go another week, another day, another minute is inside you. Be strong in staying committed to the commitment. Have the strength to help others, even when you don't want to. 

 

Do Everything In Love  - Live like Jesus did. Be like Him. Love others. You don't have to understand them, you just have to listen to them. Memorize scripture. Become selfless. Stop worrying about yourself and surrender it to Him. He just needs us to care for one another. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 12:36 which says "36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken."

"When you make a promise, to others and yourself I encourage you to keep it. That means start saying no to things that don't fit in your schedule. Stop being late to gatherings. Start keeping your own promises. 

 

When you find the culprit to your empty word, get rid of it. In my case this morning, it's my shades. Maybe for you it's a TV show, or an over packed schedule that doesn't allow you to keep your word. 

 

Find the time to slow down. Find the time to pray. Find the time to worship. Find the time to go to the gym like you said you would. Find the time to do your skin care routine like you said you would. Find the time to grab coffee with that person you said you would. Your life will be so much better when you start committing to what you set out to do. 

 

Bad habits will die. New habits will form."

"Asking for help can be hard sometimes. Our ego’s don’t allow for us to be vulnerable. Some of us fear the feeling of being weak or needing help. I know I can sometimes fear growing old because I never want to be in a situation where I can’t care for myself. This is something I’m working on.

 

But like in everything, there are seasons. Seasons in which you can help others, serve others, poor into others but there are also seasons in which you need to be poured into. You need to be served. You need help."
