"Today I encourage you to pray silently, pray over those you come into contact with. You don’t know their stories, but God does and praying for them, strengthening them in the unseen is a power we have and can give freely. So let’s give it. Cover your leaders in prayer, cover teachers in prayer, cover small businesses in prayer, cover the homeless in prayer, cover the sick in prayer, cover our nurses and doctors and hospital staff from technician to administration in prayer. Pray for strangers. Pray. It changes your perspective and it enhances this thing called life. "

"Today’s devotional is short, sweet, yet powerful. What did God promise you that you have dismissed because of your lack? What have you casted aside because of your age or your experience?

I hope we bring that back to life today. Let’s pray about the things we want most, and are too scared to accept with open arms. 

God wants to bless us with it. He wants to see his promise through, but we must be willing to accept it. "

He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."

"Maybe your story is somewhat similar to wallies and mine. Maybe you too were once lost, in a situation you weren’t supposed to be in. You probably have a similar testimony.  We can all testify that God was there for us and he broke down every wall to get to us. 

So today let's be thankful for our testimonies. Let’s be thankful for where  we were and where we are now. "

"I chose todays verse after the night I had to highlight one thing. Salvation is granted from one moment to the next, but heaven is fought for daily. Trails make you want to quit. Unexpected hiccups along the way make you want to throw in the towel. But perseverance is what gets us the crown of life. The enemy is working double time to get your further away from what God has called you to. 

But what I have learned in this life is that nothing is given to you in moments. True character has to be built over time, after spending many days in the fire. No one goes to the gym one day and then loses 50 lbs. In the same way that you can’t pray one day and not think you need to work for your spiritual life on a daily. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of James 5:12  which says "But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation."

"A vow is a vow, when you say yes, it’s a yes, and when you say no, it’s a no. It doesn’t matter if it is shared your verbal commitment with another person or not so we aren’t only talking about marriage here. I want us to remember what we have committed to under His eyes. 

The promises we give Him are important. They mean something. They are backed with blessing. 

So I encourage us all to revisit, reflect, and recommit where we has called us to. "

"Today today begs the question. Where are you? Right now. How old are you and where have you been? Where are you going? What is on your heart. Are you saying goodbye or hello to something in your life? Where ever you are, in the middle of summer, or in the turning of leaves, God is faithful. Life is emotional, but God is constant. 

So hold onto the memories. I think that’s why God gave them to us. And I know that as we get older, those fade. But I have always found that writing helps me remember, helps me reflect, and helps me cast vision to the future. Remember that God is in control, he has the wisdom to close chapters and open new ones, he has the perfect timing of when we walk into new doors. "
