Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Luke 4:16 which says "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. And as was his custom, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up to read. "

"We all do things day in and day out. Some of us tune in every single day. It is a routine. There are other things that we do that are routine for us. Going to the gym might be routine for you. Calling your loved ones before going to bed. Drinking your coffee a certain way. A lot of what we do are routines in our lives but in our routines we have systems. In our systems we have success. We must never underestimate the value of a routine. So although it’s easy to get lost on auto pilot, there is true value we can gain from in leaning in during those times. 

So let us lean a little closer today. Let us look at the things we do on auto pilot. Do they serve us or hurt us. What is the value we get of doing such things. "

"In your personal lives, whatever you face, remember those words, When it’s His Will, There is Only One Way. 

He has the path, He has the directions, He knows what doors He plans on opening and which ones will need to be shut. He knows every part of the story. He knows things you don’t know. When it’s God’s will there is nothing on earth that can separate you from it. 

Psalm 103:12 says “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

When we give our life to God he removes us from our sin, and He starts to work His wonder. When it’s His Will, there is only one way, His way. "

However you chose to work on your relationship, may you find peace in knowing there is no greater relationship you can build."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 16:11 which says "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

"I remember that in times like these, the best thing I could do is turn to God and ask Him to fill me with purpose. I ask Him to fill me with joy. I feel like we can become so lost, looking searching, hunting down the greatest career, build the best business, grow the largest family, but a lot of the times we stop and look around and can still feel empty. 

Maybe if we would take more time throughout the day to remind ourselves that the true path of life, is a path that honors Him maybe we won’t feel so empty when we get to the finish line. 

Our goal today and every day for that matter is to speak to God. One on one, as many times throughout the day as possible. Yes this podcast is great and I am so thankful for this community, but I encourage you to continue the open conversation with Him. 

You’ll be so surprised in the different directions He is interested in pulling you towards. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 2 Thessalonians 3:10  which says "For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

"He is telling this group of people that they are to work. I don’t think this means work like, don’t forget you have to get to work early today and work your full 8 hours and then come home (although there is great significance and importance in working) but I think he is referring to working for the Kingdom. 

The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat. 

This means we can’t just reap the benefit of the good news, if we aren’t willing to share it with others. We have to be kind, to reap kindness, we have to be a give if we want to get. We have to work the kingdom, if we want to eat it’s fruit. 

God asks us everyday, how are you working today? 

It doesn’t have to be a lot of work, if could be as simple as picking up the phone and telling a loved one that they are so very loved. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of John 7:38 which says "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”

"...We know, our dehydration can only be quenched by drinking from the living water. Our eyes on Jesus is what allows us to know that He will always give us the next right step. We can lean on Him, talk to Him, and follow Him in different ways. We can read the word, listen for when He deposits his righteousness into your soul during your quiet prayer time. He can speak to you through others. Jesus is everywhere. Sort of like water. We just have to make the conscious choice to stay hydrated. 

Stress is taken care of when we allow our faith to dictate our outcomes. If we just moved our focus towards what we can control and gave everything else to God we would be a lot happier today. Let’s stop living in the unknown of the future, and start loving the moments of today. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 19:21 which says "Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

"So when Jesus spoke to your heart and asked you to follow Him, did you accept the request? Are you following His way? Are you looking to the way He lived? When He speaks do you listen? Do you pray often? Speak with Him? 

Did you unfollow your habits that keep you from living a life of freedom? This verse asks us to leave it all behind. He asked this man to leave everything to follow him. This was in a time where he couldn’t hand is fortune to a friend or a brother and watch that person live their life on social media. He couldn’t check on his things from time to time to see how they were doing. He has to leave it behind. It no longer existed. 

What is God asking us to unfollow so that we can become more like Him? "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Ecclesiastes 5:4 which says "When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow."

"The problem with this is that I am comfortable with those around me. I know they will accept me, even when I stand them up or I don’t make their requests a priority. I do this to myself, and what I have found is the more I let myself down the more I stop believing the things I tell myself. 

I stopped to think, how often to I give God my word and because of my level of comfort, I have tossed Him into the second batch of people. 

I want to live my life knowing that He is proud of me. Knowing that the promises I set out and the vows I make are vows that I keep. Not only the vows I make other people, but the vows I make to myself and my father in heaven. 

May today be a day I fulfill my vows. May I take the words I say seriously, may you do so as well. They hold power. "

"Some of us might not like the work we are doing, or the season we are in. But we must remember there are lessons right now . Lessons we may not be learning because we are too blind to see how He is using this time for our good. I pray we open out eyes. Look at how God is moving in your life. 

Maybe it’s the opposite and you love exactly where you are right now, maybe you have already learned this lesson. Today is a good day to spread the good news to someone else. Someone who may need to hear that this season is going to be a season that will help strengthen their faith. Will help them with big life choices. Will help them put God first in every instance. "
