Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Ecclesiastes 1:2-4 which says "2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” 3 What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun? 4 Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever."
"I hope we are the kind of people who look back at the end of our lives and say wow, I was a good and faithful servant. I took care of my family, I had a blast, I enjoyed life. I didn’t get lost in the riches of this world. Please don’t get me wrong, building business’s is important. Starting foundations is important. Getting degrees, winning athletic championships, all important and vital to your personal growth.
But let us be generous with what we have. Let us not hold it all in for ourselves. Because at the end of it all, it isn’t coming with us to heaven.
I hope we are a generous community, a generous community that is present in their lives and in the lives of their family. Let us not sacrifice the riches for the joy of today. Build, but come home and celebrate with your loved ones. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 1 Kings 19:3-5 which says "3 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, 4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” 5 Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”
"Today I encourage you to look at what scares you and I want you to repeat the following Psalms. Repeat these words, find a melody to match them and sing the power of his freedom over your fear.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1"

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 55:6 which says "I said, "If only I had wings like a dove-- I would fly away and find rest."
"A lot of the things we want in life, we might not have. Sometimes it’s health, or money, or a job. We tell ourselves we don’t have them because there is an if only hovering over our thoughts. If only I had more time to commit to the gym. If only I had more money to buy that ticket. If only I had more confidence. If only I had less on my plate.
My prayer today is simple. Let’s stop blaming “if only” and let’s start doing what we can with what we have.
If you need rest, find rest you don’t need wings. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 2 Samuel 22:29 which says "You, LORD, are my lamp; the LORD turns my darkness into light."
"My God turns darkness into light. Sometimes darkness is a season, sometimes darkness is a bad day, sometimes darkness is all you know, but He is light. He is love. Give Him your darkness. Turn it over to Him and watch how you start to have a better outcome.
Healing can be miraculous, but it can also take time. We all have a battle ahead of us, in our homes, careers, schools, finances, let’s look to our lamp for help in all of these areas. He cares so deeply, because it matters to you. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of 2 Peter 1:3 which says "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."
"Wherever we are today - His power has given you everything you need for a dolly life because you know Jesus. You know his character. You know that he isn’t looking for perfection, he’s just looking for you.
So whether your Godly life looks like a toddler eating with their hands, or a Godly lifestyle built over years and years of deepening your relationship with Him - you have what you need."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Proverbs 18:15 which says "An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."
"I thought both were valid points and two we had full capability of executing on a daily basis. But I have found that we can’t expand our borders, if we are not behaving from a posture of wisdom and intelligence.
So let us be intelligent today. Let us act upon our wisdom, let it not be in vain. Let God expand our borders, may we impact more today than we did yesterday."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 6:11 which says "Give us this day our daily bread"
"The truth is we can’t have faith for tomorrow. Our faith is that there will be a better tomorrow but we can’t possibly know what we will hope for in the future.
We can’t live in the future, just like we can’t stay in the past. Our job today is to enjoy where God has us today. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of James 5:16 which says "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
"Today I encourage you to pray silently, pray over those you come into contact with. You don’t know their stories, but God does and praying for them, strengthening them in the unseen is a power we have and can give freely. So let’s give it. Cover your leaders in prayer, cover teachers in prayer, cover small businesses in prayer, cover the homeless in prayer, cover the sick in prayer, cover our nurses and doctors and hospital staff from technician to administration in prayer. Pray for strangers. Pray. It changes your perspective and it enhances this thing called life. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Hebrews 11:11 which says "And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise."
"Today’s devotional is short, sweet, yet powerful. What did God promise you that you have dismissed because of your lack? What have you casted aside because of your age or your experience?
I hope we bring that back to life today. Let’s pray about the things we want most, and are too scared to accept with open arms.
God wants to bless us with it. He wants to see his promise through, but we must be willing to accept it. "
