Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 128:1-2 which says "Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. 2 You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours."

"Lately I feel like my prayers have been around the feeling of being obedient and appreciating the season we are in. I think it has a lot to do with the mountain I am facing in my own life. As I navigate this feeling of pursing what God has on my heart. Being obedient to writing what he deposits into my spirit. 

It’s scary being obedient, because obedience is losing control. It’s switching from doing what you want to doing what God wants and the two are usually not the same thing. 

My prayer today is simple, lean on God. Ask Him to speak to you in a whisper. Look for His nudges. Be obedient to the calling, and I promise you that you will eat the fruit of your labor. Blessings and prosperity will be yours. This verse is beautiful, hold onto it today."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Nehemiah 1:11 which says "Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.” I was cupbearer to the king."

"Today’s prayer is a simple one yet so powerful. Lord give your servant success today by granting him favor. 

A few things really stand out in this verse and something we need to question. Are you a servant for the Lord? 

Where is your heart when you pray? Are you asking for things because you want them and need them and are you only coming to Him at times like that? 

It’s okay if your answer is yes. It just means you have a beautiful journey ahead of you. Learning to submit your will to His. Learning to prioritize your time, learning to be His hands and feet. 

My prayer today, and I hope it’s your prayer also, it’s to soften my heart, show me where I am not submissive, and to push me to be better. "

Who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— 7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? 8 “Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb, 9 when I made the clouds its garment and wrapped it in thick darkness, 10 when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, 11 when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt’? 12 “Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, 13 that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it? 14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a garment. 15 The wicked are denied their light, and their upraised arm is broken. 16 “Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep? 17 Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness? 18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this. 19 “What is the way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? 20 Can you take them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings?"

"Today we pray for Louisiana and all those in the path of Hurricane Ida. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate the aftermath of this horrific storm. 

Storms appear in our lives, literally and figuratively. Sometimes we can plan for them, other times they surprise us and unexpectedly run havoc on our lives. 

God’s grace will always be a shelter for us. He is a refuge and a hiding place from storms. He is there when we think we are alone, He is there when we need Him most, and He is there when we think we can handle it on our own - and no matter how many times we have to learn this lesson, we need Him at all times..."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of James 1:5 which says "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

"How do we find joy when all we see is heartbreak. I mourn with the 13 families, but I also celebrate with my sister. So how do we do it? Well I firmly believe we weren’t made to carry the weight of the world, but we were created with empathy. We must mourn, and cry, and fight for justice along side our brothers and sisters, but we can also find rest and joy in the everyday in between.

 

In this life, there is a balance between all the pain and all the joy, and His name is Jesus. Wisdom in knowing when to speak, what to say, and how to grieve, and how to celebrate, are always given to us through out spirit. They are deposited straight from heaven. We don’t always have the right words, we hurt those that we love, we become emotional when people don’t view the world through our lens, but if we were to stop and ask for wisdom, I know with everything in my heart as this verse solidifies, our father will give it to us. And wisdom is the only currency more valuable that gold. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Deuteronomy 1:29-33 which says "So I said to you: “Do not be terrified or afraid of them!  The LORD your God, who goes before you, will fight for you, just as you saw Him do for you in Egypt and in the wilderness, where the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way by which you traveled until you reached this place.”

But in spite of all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, who went before you on the journey, in the fire by night and in the cloud by day, to seek out a place for you to camp and to show you the road to travel."

"...Look at how at every turn He was faithful. 

Now look at the mountain you face today. We all have one. 

Why do we fear it. Why do we believe He won’t take us through it. He has done nothing but prove time and time again that He is faithful. We said it yesterday and let’s reiterate it today. God is faithful. He is just. He is good and he is the one that goes with us into the fire. 
So whatever you face today, give it to Him. "

"We are so blessed to have a father who continues to show up in our lives, especially when so often we don’t show up for Him. Not because we don’t necessarily want to, but because our sinful and rebellious nature always falls short of perfection. 

God is good. He isn’t waiting for you to love Him, for Him to love on you. This isn’t like dating. This isn’t a modern day dialogue… it took Him 3 hours to text you back so now you have to wait 3 hours to text Him. 

No, it is the complete opposite. It took me twenty four years to pursue Him. He didn’t wait twenty four years to pursue me back, no He didn’t even wait twenty four hours, let alone twenty four seconds. Our father is faithful. He is right there, right beside you and you with your lack of faith from time to time have no affect on His love and His faithfulness in your life."

"When you are in a car driving around, and you look out the window, you are simply watching the world pass you by. But when you are in a car, driving to a specific restaurant looking for the best dumplings in town, you are seeking. 

I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope we are using our time in our daily life to seek to Lord. I hope we aren’t driving around town simply looking at the blessings in our lives. Looking at the people in our lives. Looking at the opportunities as they just pass us by. 

Instead, I hope we use our time to seek the Lord. Look for his essence in everything he touches. Feel His embrace when we need it, spread is love when we can. I hope we are seeking him in our passions, hobbies, and projects. I hope we are seeking His console in our finances. I hope we are seeking His strength in our bodies. 

When we seek the Lord with our whole hearts, we can rejoice. Because everything is going to be okay, and the best is yet to come. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of James 4:3 which says "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

"Now, what about when you ask and you don’t receive? What would have happened if I had asked the bus driver for help and he said, I am sorry I am not your bus, but you can wait back at the stop it should be there soon. 

The reality is, you don’t always get what you want. You don’t always get what you ask for. 

Maybe the things you are praying for, God won’t give them to you. And maybe it upsets you. Maybe it frustrates you, but have you even thought of the ways it blesses you? Maybe he needs you to wait for the right bus to come and pick you up. Maybe he wants you to learn patience, or maybe he is purposely withholding events from you, for your good. 

We all face different mountains and some of us, needed to hear this bus story and remember to ask for help on our journey. Other’s of us need to wait for the right bus to come into our lives and take us to our destination. Wherever you are, remember there is only one person calling the shots here and it wasn’t me, it was the bus driver. 

Life is no different, the bus driver is Jesus and he is calling the shots."
