Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we discover what the bible has to say about meditation. Together we are going to be reading out of Psalm 119:15
"You shower daily, (maybe some of you shower every other day, or maybe some of you even shower twice a day. It's up to debate in some cultures) but no matter the length in between your showers, you do shower often. We shower to clean our bodies of the filth we've come into contact with since our last shower. Sometimes we don't work out in this time but a shower is still necessarily because although you might not see the sweat, your body has naturally shed dead skin cells and other particles that require we shower. Now your mind is exactly the same. Every single day we learn new things, make new discoveries about ourselves and the people around us. We encounter new struggles and new blessings. Meditation is like a shower - for your thoughts and your soul. We can rid our minds of the poison we soaked over the last day. We can have open one on one conversations with God. He can help us file our thoughts and bask in the blessings of our souls. So If you shower everyday, you should definitely meditate everyday! How can you leave your body squeaky clean and forget your mind?"

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we look to Proverbs 19:21. There are moments in our life when Gods plans will prevail over ours. His plans are greater than ours. Together let's see what that looks like in our lives and how we can become prepared for that moment.
"Take this podcast for example. I was working DILIGENTLY on my baking business. I was working on my dreams of opening a bakery. While I worked diligently, I fell behind on Devotional time. Then and only then did I realize how important it was to carve 5 minutes out of my mornings for Him. The Podcast was planted on my heart and here I am today. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would launch a podcast, but God ripped the rug from underneath me and I didn't fall, not because of my doing but because God know's exactly how to rip the rug from underneath you without dimming the light from inside. Most people would have been devastated by thought of pivoting from their dreams, but I was committed to His dreams for my life. This verse says God's plans will always prevail, so I encourage you to challenge yourself to be okay with that.
So where ever you find yourself today. Continue working, continue to water that seed. But be flexible and be ready for if/when God comes and rips the rug from underneath you. He's swift and really talented so you won't fall, I promise."

With Emmanuel (Manny) Delamota, join us both as we dive into Proverbs 21:5 and discover what consistency and diligence truly brings you.
"We are always looking for short cuts and what we are not taking into consideration is that everything takes time. God's plan for you wasn't for you to be an overnight success. His plan was to grow you, to foster you, to help you grow into the person you were called to be."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we look to Deuteronomy 7:21 for some hope today. We cling onto the goodness of our God. The world may seem like nothing is getting better, but our God is a good good father.
"The enemy will use people to do his dirty work for him. But we have to hold on to the goodness of our God. He is fighting our battles with us. Let's declare this verse together: the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth has we read through the story of David and Goliath. I pray this devotional inspires you to take on your dreams with a new perspective.
"Let's learn from this today. God gave you a dream, He gave you a calling. You might have 0 knowledge on how to start a website, how to start an online course, how to write and publish a book. How to land a role on Broadway. Maybe it's a dream in your career or in your family life. Are you going to back out of it because there are other people who are doing exactly the same thing you are and are more skilled? No
You have God on your side, as David had. In David's story he killed Goliath without any trouble. Maybe you don't have an actual person that is in your way, but a dream that's being crushed because there is a Goliath out there already much more seasoned than you, doing exactly what you always dreamed of doing."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we get ready for the weekend! We are turning to the bible to see what God has to say about rest. We are reading out of Hebrews 4:9-11 today.
"Well, I turned to the bible to see what it really said. The message is clear over and over again. Genesis says God rested on the 7th day. This verse in Hebrews is asking us to make every effort to be obedient to resting. That means taking a day to rest with Jesus. It means taking a day and unplugging from Social Media, it means taking a day to listen to worship music. Catch up on bible reading, and not work.
God to do more in your 6 days, than you can do alone in 7. So why don't you find a day this weekend and commit to unplugging and spending time basking in the blessings you had this week. Just go back and think of the entire week. Maybe you had a few bad days, but remember that God uses everything for His glory. So try and find his fingerprints in your Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and today. Maybe just maybe you'll feel replenished to take on next week with a whole new attitude."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we dive into Psalm 51:1-4 and we read about David's cry for forgiveness.
"Do you know what's so powerful? White out chips away and if you scratch hard enough, you'll see what once was there. Exposed. Maybe not fully, but like a scar it has a mark. Do you know what kind of God we serve? The kind of God that uses Control-Alt-Delete. It's gone. Your mistakes, your sins, your lack of judgment, gone. David cried for forgiveness, not the shallow kind. No, the kind that comes from your heart.
Remember man sees the exterior but God sees the heart. I read a quote the other day that said, "sometimes the reason why strangers are your biggest cheerleaders is because the people closest to you can never understand how you grew past your past."
People will never understand how a person like you became a person with a beautiful healthy family, traveled the world, grew to have influence over others. Our past selves, they don't have to answer to anyone. Don't put white out on it and continue with your life, the paint will chip, ask God for his Control-Alt-Delete button. Give it to Him."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we look to the Lord's prayer for guidance today. We are reading out of Matthew 6:10.
"This devotional was titled Heaven Here on Earth because I truly believe we have the power to change our surroundings to what heaven looks like. No one knows for sure, but I can guarantee is a diverse community of people standing in unity with an abundance of love. Let's try replicating that here. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we discover how God is determined to see you out of your pain and he is waiting to give you a life of freedom. We are going to be reading out of Exodus 3:16-17.
"Pain doesn't always mean sitting at home crying. Pain and suffering have many faces. When you feel yourself disappointed with where you are, longing to be further along - that is a practice of self inflicted pain. When events happen in your life that change the trajectory for the rest of your life, and you can't accept these events - that can be a form of pain. Pain can be anger that you've built up over the years. Pain can be a lot of things. From resentment to numbness.
I beg you to pray in these moments. God is with you, he promises to get you out and he promises to give you a land overflowing in milk and honey. A lot of times we can read that verse and think God has a life waiting for us with a big beautiful home and a lavish car. He has nice vacations planned for us and we are going to eat at the finest restaurants every single weekend.
This may be true, but this isn't the milk and honey I mean. You see if you gave your anger, grief, and resentment to God he is going to lean you into a new life where you will overflow with joy, companionship, and love. You will see the world differently. If you read on, you'll know this land comes with giants and many of the people didn't want to walk into this land because of them."
