An 18-year-old girl found dead after a night with people she barely knew, stories that don’t add up, and a family fighting for the truth. Was this really an overdose… or something much darker?

Episode Summary

In May 2021, 18-year-old Mikayla Jones vanished after spending the night at a home in Caledonia, Missouri, with three people she had just met. Weeks later, her body was found dumped off a rural highway. What followed was an investigation filled with inconsistencies, changing stories, deleted messages, and a delayed confession that raised more questions than answers.

Although authorities ruled Mikayla’s death an overdose, a second autopsy revealed injuries and non-lethal drug levels, leaving her official cause of death undetermined. Two men admitted to dumping her body were charged with tampering with evidence and abandonment of a corpse. No one has ever been charged in connection with her death.

Mikayla’s family believes she was assaulted and murdered and that the truth has yet to come out.
