古典音樂也有一個專門的領域，研究如何真實的還原早期的音樂作品的演出，Performance Practice

這就是為何早期音樂，特別像是Bach巴哈，在演奏方式和樂器上有許多爭議。
這就是為什麼如果用馬勒的樂團編制來演奏莫札特的交響曲，好像哪裡怪怪的?

柴賽是現在古典音樂界規模最大，項目最齊全的比賽之一，可以說是古典音樂的奧林匹克

其實，柴賽從創辦初期一路走來，也經歷了不少大風大浪和動盪不安。

柴賽管網裡也提到” 只要柴可夫斯基繼續生活在我們的音樂中，只要世界各地的還有人欣賞他的音樂，只要音樂廳裡還能有人演奏柴可夫斯基的曲子，柴可夫斯基大賽就會繼續存在下去。"

進行曲的歷史和軍樂隊(military band)的演變其實也有很長的發展歷史，最早的軍樂隊在13世紀就有記載，進行曲在16世紀後也開始受到了重視。
而我們總說是藝術源於生活，但我們一般熟知的音樂史卻都只專注在那些在音樂廳或舞台上發生的歷史，而這些功能性高於藝術性的進行曲，卻是真真正正的從戰場上發展而來。
