Pastor Curtis joins our host Pastor Wyatt to talk about one of the most highly debated topics in the church: predestination and free will. One truth we do know is that God is SOVEREIGN. How do we read Romans 9 appropriately? There's a beautiful mystery about God, and we hope this episode makes you more in awe of who God is.

We love talking about Sabbath and rest so much we decided to talk about it for a whole bonus episode! Justin Cutsinger and Pastor Wyatt talk about what true rest in Jesus looks like, and the two share how they are practicing the Sabbath in their lives. God created rest and He intended for us to rest because it's a gift to us! Today's world is so easily distracted and it seems like technology is not helping us practice our spiritual disciplines. What does it look like to have uninterrupted quietness with God?

Justin and Ashlee Cutsinger join us to talk about the promise of Romans 8, and share about the difficult times in their lives where they've had to cling to the promise that God is for us and not against us. There's some insight on the first year of marriage for them as well.

Ethan Gahr and Pastor Wyatt talk about difficult times as a Christian, and how that relates to Romans 8:28. What would you say the most difficult time in your life was? How did God use that time? Did he grow you in any way or teach you something new? Ethan shares his experience with applying to medical school and the journey he's been on to learn how to fully trust that God will work all things for good, even if the good may not match up with our earthly desires. There's also some talk about predestination during the last few moments of this episode!

In this week's episode of First Look, Pastors Steve Brooks and Wyatt Martin debate their differing interpretations of the controversial passage in Romans 7. What is the context of this complex passage, and from which perspective is the author (Paul) speaking from? This episode is definitely theologically complex, and we hope you enjoy it!
