Are next-gen consoles just hype? What's up guys? Welcome back to next gen video game theory. Today we're going to talk about what exactly is going on is this hype really with worth it for next gen, it almost feels like there's not as much hype this time around. Because these days graphics don't tend to upgrade as much as they did in the past. So if you were to look at in 64, to the Dreamcast, that would have been a huge upgrade in graphics capabilities, and to the PS two, to the 64, a massive upgrade. So to kind of reach where this generation where they're, everything's anatomically correct. And it's kind of gotten to that point. So what do you improve upon you improve upon lightning, lightning in the world, and you also improve upon the vastness of the world, and then really touching up a lot of that closeness when it comes to that. So I think we're still going to see this upgrade, but it's more incremental, because it's harder to tell, with the graphics cards today, VR will be a big factor in that, and kind of using that further poll of the technology. But we haven't seen that on the level as of yet, that's really gonna get that buy in. So I'm hoping it does take off because then it's going to, it's going to cause that further push that we're used to seeing when it comes to video games, a lot of people think that, hey, games are just the same as they used to be. But VR, did push those limits. And that view that you have within virtual reality, I would consider is the next big upgrade that you see from a generational standpoint, versus HDS kind of been maxed out. It's kind of one of the technologies, what's the difference in 8k and 4k, besides the performance drop, okay, on your graphics card. So I think we really need to get away from just HD and there needs to be a new technology that rolls in its place that convinces you. So what I think even like 3d monitors that don't require a, they don't require a headset would be really neat. We haven't gotten there yet, kind of HD. And then maybe you have to have like multiple layers within that monitor of lighting to create that 3d effect, kind of like what the Nintendo 3ds did. But just on a better level of HD capability, that would definitely be something that would be catch a lot of people and pull them in, and also cause graphics cards, or really have to be pushed up to get the leaps and bounds. So I don't agree necessarily at the leaps and bounds theory, that there hasn't been improvement in graphics when you upgrade systems. It's just not true. Because VR was not possible in the previous systems. It wasn't like you could not run VR and Xbox 360, it would have died. Okay, this is similar to had the red ring of death than a few minutes, and it would have been over. So we got to take those factors into account when people say that, hey, there hasn't been a leap and bound upgrade the systems. Yeah, there has been, you just aren't on the platform, or the leaps and bounds have occurred, because there hasn't been as much buying into VR, which could change in the next generation if they make it 4k vr on these headsets. And I'm interested to see what PlayStation does with the next virtual reality headsets, as that can really cause a take off of this technology, which is going to cause a graphical leap to the extreme level, because it takes a tremendous amount of hardware to run virtual reality hardware. And from an HD perspective, like I said, this hasn't been there. I think we are going to see the hype increase as we get a little bit closer and we see some more games come out as a gets shown off. I'm really excited for cyberpunk. I think that's going to really push those limits from a graphical perspective. And cyberpunk has a really good graphics engine, they created the Witcher and that franchise and grew that franchise up. So we have a good developer working on that technology. The only problem is cyberpunk, it is a multi platform release. So it's gonna be really so current gen..
