NICE’s recent recommendations in its guideline on the assessment and management of chronic pain have generated a lot of debate.

In this episode, we talk with two member of the committee who developed the guideline recommendations.

They are Cathy Stannard, a pain consultant in Gloucestershire and who was the clinical lead on the NICE chronic pain guideline committee. And Colin Wilkinson, who was a lay member on the guideline committee.

This month we discuss why everyone with an interest in what NICE does should take part in the process review consultation.

Each NICE committee contains at least two patient or patient group representatives.
