Steve Scaffidi is back for the Political Power HALF hour on Spanning the State. Today they discuss elections results from Tuesday including the amendments and Hovde vs. Baldwin. They then shift gears to the presidential election, how woman will play a huge role in the outcome of November, Trump’s comments on the Medal of Freedom and what the difference between that and the Medal of Honor as well as Steve’s thoughts on Kamala’s Economic Plan.

Then they speak to Brittany Kinser of Kinser Consulting and their new collaboration with Wisconsin Reads to help promote literacy in schools. Later they spin the state and talk about a lawsuit that may possibly prohibit personalized drivers licenses. They then close the show speaking to Olivia Fronmueller about the federal effort to remove lead service lines and educating the public about it.

Founder and CEO of Kinser Consulting Brittany Kinser, stops by to discuss the new partnership with Wisconsin Reads and their new initiative aimed at transforming literacy outcomes for elementary school children in Milwaukee. Kinser shares what other schools she is partnering with, how the program works, as well as the urgency to act as literacy rates are plummeting.

It may not be as bad as the River Seine in Paris but Wisconsin beaches across Lake Michigan have been shut down from fecal pollution and E. Coli. Professor of Ecosystem Health in the School of Freshwater Sciences University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee joins Spanning the State to explain why this is happening, what else is plaguing our beaches, and other ways we can enjoy a beach day.
