Author of the new book “Land Rich, Cash Poor: My Family's Hope and the Untold History of the Disappearing American Farmer” Brian Reisinger joins Spanning the State to further discuss his book, his focus on American Farmers who are struggling to keep their business afloat and his own experience growing up on a farm.

Brian and Kristin talk to Dr. Alcinda Flowers, Associate Medical Director at Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin about the recent blood shortage local hospitals are facing. Dr. Flowers explains how we are facing such a bad the shortage, what happens to the patients when this occurs, and what happens when blood isn’t available.

Kristin Brey and Brian Noonan are back in studio from State Fair. They kick off the show speaking to Minneapolis reporter Tom Hauser, for an overview of who Tim Walz is. Later Kristin breaks down the amendments you should be aware of on your ballot for the August 13th election. Also, it’s mosquito season but it may be more dangerous than usual as Wisconsin gets it’s first case of West Nile. Then they spin the state, talk to Annex Wealth Management’s Brian Jacobsen about wage growth in WI, before doing an Olympic debrief and chatting about a few more things you missed over the weekend!
