Religious Schools in Wisconsin that receive taxpayer money can’t discriminate when it comes to admission, but that hasn’t stopped them from making life miserable for many LGBTQ students who are trying to find their way. Some of these schools do in fact have anti-LGBTQ policies and the problem is…there’s nothing we can do about it. Local food organizer for Wisconsin Farmers Unions Forest Humphrey, joins Kristin and Brian to talk about the WI Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA Program) a new program providing support for local farmers. The program is back for a second season where they are awarding 5,000 and $25,000 to supply food to pantry partners, including fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs and specialty products like honey. They are also offering resources to farmers to upscale their business.
