Not a Bomb

This week on Not A Bomb, Spooktober comes to an end but the gang is going out with a bang. Everyone is talking about Halloween Kills, but we decided to discuss the Halloween film without Michael Myers. That’s right! It’s time to talk about Halloween 3: Season of the Witch! The pod welcomes back, Josh from The VHS Files, to aid us in talking about killer robots, Stonehenge, creepy commercials, and Tom Atkins’ dad bod.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch took the franchise in a different direction and fans weren’t happy about the results in 1982. Not only was it the lowest grossing Halloween film, at the time, but was critically panned. However, in recent years, many horror fans have come to love the film and others have declared it the best Halloween film in the series. What do the guys at Not A Bomb think? Take a listen and find out!

Halloween III: Season of the Witch is directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and stars Tom Atkins, Stacey Nelkin, and Dan O’Herlihy.

Welcome back listeners! We have another spooky episode to get you in the Halloween spirit! On this episode of Not A Bomb, we learn that perseverance and being related to one of the hosts will finally get your request moved to the top of the list. Troy’s daughter, Angelica, joins Not A Bomb to discuss one of her favorite spooky films - Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. The Scream Queen herself deserves a giant show and the gang also invites fan-favorite, John, to give us a little bit of history on Horror Hosts and this fascinating sub-genre of film.

Angelica finally gets her moment in the sun to talk about Elvira and her ability to empower women while providing consistent laughs during the film’s runtime. Brad, on the other hand, gets to display his typical “Bradness” and crap all over somebody else’s favorite film while still exuding tons of charm and charisma. The gang discusses everything from boob jokes, temperamental dogs, feminism, the dangers of buffets, Troy’s first date with his wife, and how to pass a class in college without actually attending the class. Ultimately, they decide if Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is a bomb or another cult classic!

Also, while at Baltimore Comic-Con, Troy found an amazing artist. Do yourself a favor and catch out - Jusscope.com.

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is directed by James Signorelli and stars Cassandra Peterson, W. Morgan Sheppard, Daniel Greene, Jeff Conway, Susan Kellermann, and Edie McClurg.
