Today’s word of the day is ‘crossed’ as in when you cross your fingers and toes when you say something as in not telling the truth as in Patriots head coach Bill Belichick turned down the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump. This has become major news, but the biggest part of this story was seeing the statement that Bill Belichick put out. (16:02) Doug Pederson has been fired by the Philadelphia Eagles about 10 minutes after we released Monday’s show. On that show we talked about how owner Jeff Lurie didn’t share the vision Pederson had for him. Lurie’s comments were ridiculous. (23:20) Review - Boogie Nights (28:43) So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on what commissioner Gary Bettman had to say about revenue loss, expansion, and NHL TV deals. I was also asked about what MLB commissioner Rob Manfred had to say about the upcoming season. (38:08) NPPOD - We head to the NBA for Warriors-Pacers. (40:09) The Chicago White Sox signed Liam Hendricks to a monster deal. Let’s explain this deal. Will the White Sox regret this deal in the end? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘slime’ as in Nickelodeon as in the NFL and ViacomCBS partnered to broadcast an alternate viewing experience for kids to watch the Chicago Bears vs the New Orleans Saints game. It was filled with slime and SpongeBob and animations and fun. It was a new and innovative way to show a game and capture a young audience. Will other leagues and networks try and capitalize on this new way? (8:15) Francisco Lindor was introduced by the New York Mets today. It was a Zoom! What a world. He was asked about long-term deal and although he didn’t say it… we all know he wants it done fast. (15:15) So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if the Washington Nationals signing Kyle Schwarber had anything to do with the universal DH. (22:02) Review - The Infinite Race. (25:30) The Houston Texans hired the Korn Ferry search firm to find its next GM. Cal McNair paid Korn Ferry $600K and ignored them. So what happened? DeShaun Watson got very mad about not having any say in the GM search or the head coaching search. It is a danger zone. (32:07) Doug Pederson is set to meet with Eagles owner Jeff Lurie to discuss the future of the organization. Lurie wants to be sure of the vision that Pederson has for the team. What? (35:45) NPPOD - Let’s recap my Super Wild Card Weekend picks and give out tonight’s winner. (41:30) Let’s end the show with some Wait To See’s. How wrong or right have I been? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘Whitesnake’ as in here I go again on my own as in the classic 1982 jam by Whitesnake as in the New York Mets have finally done it, they have got their guy… Francisco Lindor. How did this deal come about? Why would the Cleveland Indians trade the best shortstop in the game for prospects? Are the New York Mets the real deal now or is new owner Steve Cohen not done making moves? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I can foresee a franchise in Vancouver being successful in MLB. Don’t let MLB ownership deceive you with the news of these new TV deals. The money is there and the owners will have it. Review - Freaky. Let’s give out some picks for the Super Wild Card weekend! Let’s end today with DeShaun Watson update. He is mad. Very, very mad. The Houston Texans promised Watson he would be part of the search for the GM and the next head coach. Guess what the Texans didn’t do? Talk to DeShaun Watson! How will this work out? #waittosee

There was a coup attempt in Washington D.C. at the Capitol building yesterday. It happened live on television. It happened because of the disgusting and harmful rhetoric our president has used for the past four years. It was not a protest. It was not a rally. It was not a gathering. It was coup attempt by domestic terrorists. It was a sad day for America, and change is needed. This whole episode today will be us trying to process what happened yesterday and what the future looks like if change doesn’t happen. #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘Pierre’ as in there once a boy named Pierre who would always say “I don’t care!” as in the NFL just doesn’t care as in the Cleveland Browns make the playoffs for the first time in almost two decades and now they have to play without their head coach and a starting offensive lineman. Excuse me? How is this possible? Is this fair from the NFL (0:06)? UPDATE: Chan Gailey has resigned as the offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins a day after a fake account said he’d been fired. Lovely (9:19)! So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me how do I feel about the NHL selling the naming rights to their four divisions for the 2021 season. Interesting (13:15). Review - Soul (29:15). The Nothing Personal Pick of the Day: we’re 0-2 on the year, but Super Wild Card Weekend is approaching and we have winners (33:05). We need to talk about Russell Wilson again. I’m still not over this (36:00). The NBA wants expansion teams to help make up lost revenue. How much would that cost a person? Oh, just $2.5B per team! Ha! Is anyone going to pay that (42:15)? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘empowerment’ as in who are we going to empower as in if you empower the wrong person you’re in trouble as in DeShaun Watson has got the power! What do I mean by this? He is the star quarterback of the Houston Texans and he was asked about what the Texans need in a new head coach. Let’s go through the conversation that the front office should be having with DeShaun Watson to make sure that there is no power tripping going on in Houston (0:06). The Jacksonville Jaguars fired Doug Marrone and the team’s owner Shad Khan made a statement that was show worthy. These are the type of statements that just make me laugh. Laugh with me, won’t you (11:35)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about John Elway taking an ‘elevated position’ within the Denver Broncos organization, but still remaining the President of Football Operations. What? How could that be (18:09)? Review - Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (28:05). How many times have you got got on social media? When someone tweets something and it’s a bunch of malarkey from either a fake account or someone running a fake story? Has this ever happened to you? It happens to the biggest companies in the world too (31:45). The entirety of the NCAA tournament will be held in Indianapolis. March Madness under one roof! Why do you think this bubble was formed (40:40)? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘integrity’ as in respect as in competitive integrity as in covid integrity as in what happened last night with the Philadelphia Eagles showed none of it. Eagles coach Doug Pederson pulled his starting QB Jalen Hurts down 3 to the WFT for the back up back up Nate Sudfeld… how did it work out? A disaster. Eagles lose the game, Giants miss the playoffs, WFT make the playoffs. What a day. Doug Pederson’s postgame comments were a joke (0:06). What else happened yesterday? The New York Jets finally fired Adam Gase. It was bound to happen. We all knew it was going to happen. It happened (13:33). What about the Dolphins with Tua? How are there actually people saying it’s time to move on from him? Absolutely not (22:16). So You Wanna Talk Samson!? Someone asked me if front offices try to influence coaches to make decisions when a player has an incentive bonus on the line. Lovely (26:20). Review - Bridgerton (38:00). Let’s end the show with a massive Wait To See update. We have 10 of them. These are things I told you were either going to happen or not happen, and if I was right or wrong, ACCOUNTABILITY (43:00)! #waitttosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘released’ as in let go as in here’s the door as in Ron Rivera and the Washington Football Team have released QB Dwayne Haskins. Just yesterday Ron Rivera said he wanted to see improvement from Haskins and later that afternoon Haskins was released. Well, what happened here? How did this move so quickly from improvement to release (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the San Diego Padres and the possibility of narrowing the gap between the Los Angeles after acquiring Blake Snell and Yu Darvish. Why did the Chicago Cubs do this? Money (11:30)! Here is some advice for Steve Cohen and the New York Mets. He should listen because there are some mistakes he’s making that he could learn from me (26:40). Review - Death to 2020 and Under The Grapefruit Tree (33:00). Daryl Morey is at it again! He posted something about James Harden on Twitter and was fined $50K for breaking an anti-tampering rule. Will Morey ever learn how to use social media without breaking the rules (45:00)? #waittosee
