Today’s word of the day is ‘tender’ as in chicken tender as in ballpark tenders as in the tender deadline is here in MLB. What exactly does it mean? It means there could be a record number of free agents on the market in Major League Baseball (0:06). The New York Mets did it! Hurray, Steve Cohen! The Mets went out and signed reliever Trevor May and Mets fans are losing their collective minds. They think this is the moment where everything goes their way. Is this the sign of big free agent signings to come or the Steve Cohen just having new owner-itis (16:02). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me to talk about COVID’s impact on the upcoming NBA and MLB seasons. Doc Rivers spoke yesterday about how worried he is about the NBA’s chances of finishing a season. Uh oh (25:48). Review - Wayne (39:35). Let’s end today talking some football. The Eagles are a disaster. Carson Wentz stinks. Doug Pederson is on the chopping block (43:15). The Ravens have no players, but have to play the Steelers 6 days after they were supposed to play the Steelers. What is happening (45:25)? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘misplaced’ as in where did I put it as in I thought I put this somewhere else as in Will Fuller said his trust was misplaced with a doctor! Excuse me! After testing positive for a PED, Will Fuller said it was the doctor’s fault! Excuse me! So Fuller was suspended for six games or the rest of the season, and to make things worse… it’s a contract year! His teammate Bradley Roby was ALSO suspended six games for PED use (0:06). Uh oh! Let’s go to PR School 101. Bears head coach Matt Nagy had an all time quote after Chicago got blown out by the Green Bay Packers. How should he be evaluated by the front office for these comments and this season (13:31)? Here’s a story about the Miami Marlins and what we did with managers (14:30). Dennis Schroeder did everything wrong when signing with the Los Angeles Lakers. You cannot tell people what you’re going to do as far as starting. Gain some respect from your teammates and coaches first. Let me explain why (26:10). Review - The Queen’s Gambit (39:15). #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘fire drill’ as in it’s time to get moving as in panic as in the Baltimore Ravens are scurrying around trying to figure out what in the world went wrong inside the lockeroom. It all started with a strength coach breaking protocols, which led to an outbreak, which led to 20 players testing positive, which led to the NFL moving the game from Thursday to Sunday to now Tuesday. Why is the NFL trying so hard to get this game played against the Pittsburgh Steelers (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me why the NFL forced the Denver Broncos play with a QB who wasn’t a QB, but had to play QB. Well… I have some thoughts on this (11:28). Review - The Undoing (24:40). What are the San Francisco 49ers going to do for the next three weeks? The team was told by the Santa Clara County that no more sports are to be played because of the rise of covid numbers and the 49ers are upset. Boohoo (30:15)! Let’s get to some MLB news about free agency. The report is that the Philadelphia Phillies lost $145M this past season. How could this be? Will this impact the team’s offseason (36:00)? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘Dabo’ as in Dabo Swinney as in Clemson’s head football coach felt the need to ignite the flames against Florida State on Sunday. The two teams were supposed to play on Saturday, but the game was postponed after medical expert from both teams couldn’t agree on playing. Dabo came out and said that this was cancelled because Florida State was making up excuses to not play Clemson. Excuse me (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I agree with the Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores and his handling of Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday. Tua was benched down 20-10 for Ryan Fitzpatrick (11:57). Review - Top 5 Thanksgiving movies (29:35). It’s time to talk about the NFC East again. Every team in the East is terrible. The Philadelphia Eagles have a 1/2 game lead on the rest of the division and they’re 3-6-1. What? The Dallas Cowboys finally picked up their third win of the season and Mike McCarthy had some interesting things to say (34:45). Gordon Hayward signed a contract with the Charlotte Hornets for how much money? What Michael Jordan has done as owner of that team is baffling (41:50). The Los Angeles Lakers have done a great job getting better in the offseason, but will they repeat as champions (45:00)? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘freedom’ as in being able to do what you want as in being able to say what you want as in what Kelly Stafford is learning about the consequences of this. Kelly is the wife of Lions QB Matthew Stafford. She took to Instagram yesterday and had some sort of take on living in Michigan right now during the pandemic. It was deleted and an apology was posted. What can we learn about this (0:06)? What are the New York Knicks doing right now? They’ve waived every player on their team (not every player) and now they have the most cap space in the NBA. SO what is the big plan? Signing Gordon Hayward? Trading for Russell Westbrook? Oh boy (12:30). Review - Friends From College (Season 2) (22:45). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the Atlanta Braves sanctions on International signings from a few years ago. Let me give you some background first and then talk about what happened (27:20). Today is Jeffrey Loria’s birthday. In honor of his birthday I’d like to go over some misunderstandings about the man. #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘Cano cannot’ as in Cano cannot help himself as in Cano Cannot get into Cooperstown now as in Cano Cannot play next season. For the second time in his career he has been suspended for PED use. SO what’s going on in the Mets front office now that this suspension cleared $24M off the books? Celebrating (0:06). NBA Draft was last night! Did you watch? Did you see it? Daryl Morey already has his fingerprints all over the 76ers. Trades, trades, trades! Morey sent Al Horford out of town and brought in more shooting. Does Doc Rivers know that this is happening (13:40)? Klay Thompson is hurt again. It could be another significant injury. The Golden State Warriors gave Thompson a five-year, $189M deal and he’ll now likely miss the first two years of that deal with injuries. Woof (19:06). Bogdan Bogdanovich never approved a sign-and-trade deal to the Milwaukee Bucks. And now he wants to enter restricted free agency. Giannis cannot be happy about this (23:06). Review - Rebecca (30:20). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about the fight between Joe Judge and Marc Colombo of the New York Giants. They wanted to know if there would actually have been a fight or if Judge just fired Colombo because he was bad at his job (34:35). #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘rainman’ as in the movie with Dustin Hoffman as in Theo Epstein doesn’t really know what he wants, but everything sounds good. Will he take off 2021? Probably not. Does he want to sit out 2021? Probably. Will he be the New York Mets president of baseball ops? Probably (0:06). SO what’s going on with Cody Bellinger? You guys remember the Dodgers won the World Series, but there was almost a major disaster when Bellinger hit a home run and then dislocated his shoulder celebrating? Do you remember that? Now he needs surgery (5:40). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me about Mac Williams suing the San Francisco Giants for having bullpen mounds on the field (12:19). Review - Friends From College (23:30). Student loan forgiveness conversation. What is happening and what could realistically happen. I want to discuss this in the context of financial aid and education and college in general. I am passionate about this and it is trending like crazy right now (30:45). NBA DRAFT NIGHT! The NBA also announced a split schedule release for the season and a play-in tournament for the playoffs! Whoa. Extra playoffs is extra business and that’s extra money (40:50). #waittosee

Chicago Cubs president of baseball operation Theo Epstein has officially stepped down today after nine seasons with the club. Under his guidance the Cubs won its first World Series in 108 years in 2016. So what is next for Theo Epstein? Well, there is a team in New York that has a new billionaire owner that promised his fans that they'd win a World Series in the next 3-5 years. What's next for the Chicago Cubs? #waittosee

Today’s word of the day is ‘beard’ as in facial hair as in The Beard as in James Harden. Everyone knows James Harden because of his beard. Well, Harden wants out of Houston in the worst way possible. Houston lost its coach, fired its GM, and now can lose its superstar. NBA players, especially these superstars, have so much control over everything. So what can the Houston Rockets do? Is there anyway to keep him happy and keep him in Houston? Or is he Brooklyn bound (0:06)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I was President of LSU would I fire Ed Orgeron. This needs to be discussed (18:50). I have a few thoughts about the Houston Texans. What a shame that organization has turned into. Jack Easterby should not be in charge. He is in charge and he thought a good thing to do was fire the VP of Communications, Amy Palcic, who apparently is loved by everyone inside and outside the organization (27:35). Review - A Rainy Day in NY (35:57). Let’s end a show with some news on Mike Clevinger. He was traded from the Cleveland Indians to the San Diego Padres during the season. Well, it was announced today that the Padres have signed him to a two-year deal, BUT he will miss next season with Tommy John surgery. Why was this deal made (41:35)? #waittosee
