After more positive tests came back for the Miami Marlins, a report came out that Washington Nationals players are refusing to travel to Miami this weekend for a three-game series (0:06). The Phillies-Yankees game for Tuesday has been postponed again. Yankees are heading back to New York. This is a MAJOR problem for MLB, but don't worry... Rob Manfred has it under control (4:27). The NFL set the opt-out deadline as August 3rd... well today a bunch of players decided to exercise that clause. Six Patriots alone have opted out on Tuesday. Let's discuss (11:35). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if I expect managers to watch pitch counts during a shortened season like they would in a 162 game season (18:30). Tonight's Yankees-Phillies game has been postponed because the Marlins just wrapped up a series on Sunday in Philadelphia. What would I do if I was involved with MLB? This is a long discussion (0:06). Now let's take a look at the NBA. What's going on with the bubble? Is it working? Well, Lou Williams tested the bubble investigation team. He went to Georgia for personal reasons, but was then caught at Magic City in Atlanta, breaking all the NBA bubble rules. This cannot happen (27:55). More bad MLB news: Justin Verlander could be out the rest of the season with a forearm injury. He says he will be reevaluated in a few weeks. Injuries were always going to happen. They just signed Mookie Betts to a long-term deal that would keep him in LA until he's 40. The team is loaded with talent, like always. Will they be able to finally get that ring (14:32)? What are the Dodgers doing? There is too much uncertainty with the financials. How do you think Gavin Lux feels about the deal. Someone asked me about Glen Taylor wanting to sell the Minnesota Timberwolves for $1.2B. They wanted to know my thoughts on Taylor saying that he won't sell to someone who wants to move the team (22:30). The Islanders are about to sign a huge naming rights deal. Today's word of the day is 'nada' or nil or zero as in the amount of positive tests within the NBA bubble. This is a great sign. It means the bubble will work if the players buy into it. Is the bubble working (0:06)? The NFL got to see how bad negotiations went between MLB and MLBPA which helped them out immensely. On Monday the NFL 'gave in' and offered the players zero preseason games. There could be ramped up testing of up to once a day for two weeks straight. Is everything perfect in the NFL (8:24)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on Dr. Fauci throwing out the first pitch for Opening Day in Washington DC. Not only are the Nationals the defending World Series champions, they're also playing the New York Yankees (16:47). San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler became the first MLB manager kneel during the National Anthem. More history was made in that game as Alyssa Nakken became the first woman to coach on the field during the game. Something else also happened - Kapler said he may not tell his starting pitcher they're starting until gameday... what (27:53)? Review - Married (39:07). Someone asked me what Toronto Blue Jays staffers need to do now that Canada will not allow MLB to take place this season. One of the biggest stories in MLB this weekend concerned Yankees suspended pitcher Domingo German. He sent out a release saying he was done with baseball and leaving the game. The very next day he released another statement saying he was sorry for the confusion, but he still wants to continue playing.
