Jason Tatum scored 25 points with 10 boards and 9 assists in the win.  Al horford contributed 22 points in the win as well.  No donovan mitchell proved difficult as nobody could produce any offense other than evan Mobley who scored 33 points.

• The Avalanche stay alive beating out dallas stars 5-3

• FC cincinnati scored a goal off the header of Kevin Kelsy in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Lets travel back to that moment, get away from the current reds, and fondly recall that winning streak that brought baseball back alive in cincinnati. No matter what the situation was, you felt like the reds would win….. Facing a tough pitcher, theyd score enough to win. Down three in the ninth….they’d walk off to gapper dancing on the field. It’;s a great feeling right? Well the same is true in baseball when the wheels are falling off. No matter what the situation, you konw as a fan they’re going to blow it. Alexis diaz has by and large been great for this team oliver the last two years…..in fact, hes been among the very best closers in the national league. But in september last season, he ran out of gas. He was lit up in spring training and we wondered on this show i\f he was gonna be okay. He’s pitched a total of 14 innings this season and allowed 27 baserunners….. 12 hits and 12 walks and three hit batters. All of those happened in the arizona ninth inning last night. Hit batter Out Walk Walk 2-run game winning hit by? Kevin Newman…..remember him? 6-5 the final….A Heartbreaker for sure. After all, the reds battled all night against left jordan montgomery. Scored twice against the arizona bullpen to take the lead in the eighth. The reds stand at 17-24, 7 games behind milwaukee, and tied for dead last in the nl central with the cardinals….and the cardinals stink. Tonight it’s hunter greene against righty slade cecconi. First pitch 9:40 P eastern. The hits just keep on comin….literally and figuratively . After missing the first month and a half with an injury…..it’s back ti the IL for centerfielder TJ Friedl . He was hit by a pitch on the hand over the weekend in san francisco. That hand has a fracture in it……out 4-6 weeks. Business side of baseball….. Mlb signed a deal with Roku to nationally stream MLB games on Sundays starting next season. Football news, The full schedule will be released tomorrow but they give you nuggets leading up to big day. Yesterday we learned the nfl’s season opener has the chiefs hosting the ravens. Guess who’s week 2? The bengals at kansas city! Thats a sunday 4:25 start at arrowhead. Will the bengals be on primetime this season? You know they will….. Who would you want to see them play if you could pick one home game and one road game? We will discuss that topic later. The jets will start the season week 1 on a monday night at san francisco. It will mark the return of aaron rodgers…not only to the jets but he grew up in the bay area.

• The Mets trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth last night, but Brandon Nimmo wanted to be the hero as he hit a walk off 2 run dinger.  

NL Central standings 

Brewers lead the division by a half game at 24-16, the cubs are right behind them at 24-17, the pirates have jumped to third place in the central and are 6.5 games back.  The reds are 7 games back with a 17-23 record.  The cardinals are a game behind them.

• Celtics lead their series 2-1 after beating the cavs 106-93.  Tatum scored 33 points and brown wasnt far behind dropping 28 points.

• Canucks lead their series 2-1 over the oilers after winning 4-3 yesterday.  

MLS

• Hell is real! Fc cincinnati won 2-1 over the columbus crew in columbus.  It was 0-0 heading into the 74th minute but kevin kelsy scored the go ahead goal.  Acosta followed that up with a goal not 2 minutes later.

• The Reds were back yesterday.  It was a day after an off day, so theyd surely look refreshed right? Not really.  The Reds lose 6-2 in game 1 to the arizona diamondbacks.  Zac Gallen went 6 innings striking out 6 and not allowing a run.

• Rangers stomp on the Sacramento Athletics 15-8.  They had a 10 run second inning.

• The Celtics appear to be coasting to the NBA finals as they eviscerate the cavaliers in game 1 120-95.

• The Rangers take a 2-0 series lead over the hurricanes after winning again last night 4-3.  Vincent Trocheck’s goal ended a marathon double overtime game.

• The Reds were off yesterday but they announced Sam Moll was heading down to Triple A. There will be a corresponding roster move today.  We can assume that will be Frankie Montas, and if that is true the reds can only have 13 pitchers on the roster.  He was one of 3 guys with options.

• Dodgers beat the Marlins 6-3 but the story of the game is Shohei ohtani hitting his fourth home run in 3 days.  

NBA

• Jalen brunson has now scored 40 in 4 straight games as the knicks survive against the pacers.  Referees took over the game with a questionable illegal screen call.  121-117 the final score there.  Haliburton only contributed 6 points on 6 shots in 36 minutes.  Knicks lead 1-0 in the series 

NHL

• The bruins lead 1-0 in that series winning 5-1 over the panthers last night.  Bruins goalie Jeremy swayman made 38 saves.
