This episode is part two of a two part series with Dave Raymond, who created the loving, fun and playful personality of The Philly Phanatic, the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, the best mascot, ever!
Dave Raymond is an international keynote speaker who has dedicated his life to studying methods that lead to long-term sustainable happiness. His work is focused on The Power of Fun, which is the title of his book and his life. Dave has taught countless others to ask themselves the question: How can fun save your life?
In this episode, Dave reminds us that The Philly Phanatic is a unifier with a vitally important lesson: we are more in common than we’re not; when we surround ourselves with the things that we love, and we share them, we’re going to learn about the people we don’t know about. Dave reminds us that having fun is simple solution to a really complex problem.
Dave leans in to the power and importance of having fun and reminds us that if we practice, and work hard at it, we'll realize that no matter how difficult life can be, we CAN get over it. Keep having fun over and over; we all have resilience.
One of my final questions was asking Dave how he survived the hot summer days in the furry costume. He shares that the years wearing the costume were just an elixir for a healthy life overall, both physically and mentally.
