Classics endure for so many reasons, but one classic of western literature which stands above the rest is The Count of Monte Cristo, not the sandwich nor a mere tale of great escape, but an intricate story of greed, jealously, and cold, calculated vengeance. It's long for a casual read, but it's very worth the time.

Disney's live action Cinderella is certainly one of their better live action installments, plus, despite the heavy leaning on romance, the story also fleshes out more of Cinderella's character and story. Our ratings are appropriately low and the emphasis on "have courage and be kind" is certainly a welcome addition to this telling.

The Amazon series Panic is based on the book of the same name by Lauren Oliver. The general idea of facing down fears is of high interest to teens, but when jumping off cliffs and staying overnight in a haunted house turns into murder and mayhem, it's probably time to admit the game has gotten well out of control. Interestingly, some of the more intriguing characters are the ones who have moments that raise them above who everyone else expects them to be.
