There are four primary factors that, upon fulfillment, lead to an increased sense of meaning in life: Finding one's purpose in life; developing strong values that can act as a moral compass; developing self-efficacy, or working on believing in your ability to succeed; and developing self-worth by identifying your worth as a person.
So, when you are shopping online this year, or in store waiting to purchase your items, deciding what your holiday menu will be, where you will take your holiday photos, or take your next trip; take a moment and reflect, does this make you happy and what meaning does this provide to you. Discovering meaning for life will allow you to have hope, enjoy and love the life you live while being resilient.
