Original Publish Date October 19, 2021 The second we saw that hair, we knew we had to talk about it.  Gwen Shamblin began her career as a diet expert in the early 90s and built an empire out of preaching thinness as a way to holiness.  And people followed as she started a giant church in the suburbs of Nashville, TN.  Along the way she destroyed lives and her teachings even led to the death of at least one child and one teenager.  

Gwen Shamblin is a cautionary tale of what happens when a dynamic leader misrepresents the Bible and manipulates parishioners out of their money and relationships.  It's a fascinating look at a world that was hiding in plain sight.
