  • #1329, SPCA Furball, Dallas DogRRR, Home For Life

    Happy Furry Friday!
Renaldo and Bernadette are trying to go higher today! We have furbulous news! We have partnered with Castor & Pollux. As the leader and maker of America’s #1 organic pet food, Castor & Pollux has set a new standard with the most comprehensive portfolio of purposeful pet food. Let’s get started! Patti Dawson of Dallas DogRRR, Maura Davies of The SPCA, and Lisa LaVerdiere are all here representing animal advocacy!
    Maura Davies

Maura Davies is the Vice President for Marketing & Communications at the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) of Texas. As a longtime friend of One Life Radio, Maura is with us almost every Friday!

    Virtual FurBall
The SPCA has been in the Dallas community since 1938 providing services for animals! The Furball had to be shelved in 1998, but it has been back consistently for 15 years! Maura and The SPCA Texas never thought they would throw the Furball in a pandemic! So this year, it's virtual! The SPCA of Texas is thrilled to announce that Fur Ball 2020 will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. And this year, the SPCA of Texas’ gala is going virtual for the first time due to COVID-19 with a program that is sure to inspire and uplift the spirits. The one-of-a-kind virtual experience will feature mission-focused stories, entertainment and gratitude, all with a focus of raising important funds for the SPCA of Texas in support of our critical work in our community through live and silent auctions packed with fabulous items.

It was a hard decision for Maura and her team to go virtual, but we are so thankful they made the choice to keep it going, despite the pandemic! There is a suggested donation of $100, but every dollar counts. The money goes directly to help the kittens, bunnies, puppies, ratties, chickies, and horsies!
    Patti Dawson
Patti started volunteering with Dallas DogRRR in 2014. Dallas DogRRR was established as a Non-Profit in 2015. She began running the rescue, acing as president by January of 2016. In her real work outside her volunteer work, she is behavior specialist and a Mom and a Wife.
    Dallas DogRRR
Dallas Dogrrr is celebrating! Yesterday was North Texas Giving Day! Dallas DogRRR's goal was 85k, but they managed to raise $106,383! What a huge thing done for animals that will make such a difference in North Texas! After Hurricane Harvey, Dallas DogRRR went worldwide! They recently received a gift for a dog all the way from Kuwait! Patti has worked so hard to make a difference in these animals life. So much work goes into animal rehabilitation, but it is so rewarding when you can make a difference.

Dallas Dogrrr recently started Serenity's project! After a dog with a large face tumor made a large impact on Patti's life, she decided to start a program in Serenity's legacy. The Serenity Project is a community outreach program that will provide families with the resources they need to keep their animal in their home. NO animal should go without food, supplies, and medical treatment. Serenity was severally emaciated when she was picked up by animal control. She was an owned dog that someone allowed to go untreated. They do not know the circumstances behind Serenity's story, but they do know that they will help other dogs like Serenity in her honor.

  • #1327 Faye Elahi and Immunity

    Happy Hump Day!
Renaldo and Bernadette are talking positivity right off the bat! It is good to be positive at the start of our day! We are excited for today's show! We have two long-time OLR friend Faye Elahi!
    Faye Elahi
Faye Elahi is a non-celiac, gluten-sensitive nutritionist with over 30 years of experience in special needs nutrition. She has helped thousands of individuals with food allergies & Intolerances, Celiac Disease, Attention Deficit Disorder, Hyperactivity Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Faye is the author of the popular gluten-free nutrition book, "Ready, Set, Eat!" She has written over 50 articles about the relationships between diet and behavior, sensory integration disorder, gluten, casein, yeast, and toxin-free diets.

The Daily Habits to Protect Against Viral Attacks and Boost Your Immune System
The more stress we let in, the less we sleep and the less our immune system can fight off bacterias and viruses. So number 1, be careful of your sugar intake! Be a good example to your children by making good food choices! Immunity is something we all need to be vigilant about. Faye says we need to have a blood test done to see what we are deficient on! Faye says that we need to know if we are vitamin D deficient, so a blood test is most easy and attainable. 5,000 iu doses of vitamin d, daily, are what Faye and Bernadette recommends. Exercise the minimum 30 minutes a day! Sleep from 6-8 hours at night. Sleep is key for a healthy brain and body, so turn off you screens before bedtime! Also, connect with friends! Connection with other people is key for a happy life. Finally, meditate!

    Thank You!

  • #1326, Dewone Bennett and Friendship

    Happy Tuesday!
Renaldo is fired up today! He must be feeding off Bern's energy! Sign up for our newsletter to get inside info on all of Bernadettes favorite books, recipes, and more! Let's get higher baby, so stick around! We have a great show with Dewone Bennett talking all about friendship!
    Dewone Bennett
Dewone Bennett is a Licensed Professional Counselor with two masters degrees and over 12 years of counseling experience. He currently has his own practice, Dewone Bennett Counseling in Dallas, TX. He believes that the key to mental and behavioral success is the ability to master self-awareness and emotional control.
The Importance Of Keeping And Maintaining Friends - Friendship
You want to have people you can be vulnerable with. You want to have people that can serve as a sound mind to pick. A friend that unconditionally loves you is the best bet! If you don't have a great support system, will you ever be able to take any really risk in your life? We need friends to push us out of our comfort zone. Somebody who is constantly pushing you to be the best version of yourself is the kind of friend you want. The friendships you have are the people you chose, so hopefully you chose good people!

So much of life requires friends for happiness! There are so many factors around us that try to bring us down: politics, COVID, isolation and more, so make friends! Your friends keep you active. If you have at least one good friend, you will have someone to drag you out of bed and drag you to that concert. Your friends will help you be ambitions and strive for great things in life! Bernadette stresses the importance of having many aged friends. Having friends older than you are good for advice, but having younger friends is good to for new perspectives on topics! Friend mentorship gives you so much value!
    Who Is Your Bestie?
There are a few factors for finding your bestie. Consistency is key. There are going to be times where your friends fail to meet your expectation. The person you call that you know will help you is likely your bestie. Are you allowed to be authentic with this person? Both people must be able to be their authentic self, so let loose! Reciprocity is important. In order to have a good friend, you need to be a good friend. Be an everything friend to your friends! Be a shoulder to cry on, a date to a concert, a companion.

We couldn't have a conversation about friendship without talking about toxic friendships. Your friend may be toxic if there is always drama. If they always want to talk about themselves and never your problems, they may be toxic. If you have a friend that crosses your boundaries, you need to stand up to them. Dewone says the key to a good friendship is communicate, communicate, communicate! If you want to be a better friend to someone make sure you are consistent and loyal.
    Thank You!

  • #1325, Jason Harris, Generosity, The Four Agreements

    Happy Monday!
Happy Monday from team OLR! We had a relaxing weekend! Bernadette says her heart goes out to California dealing will all the smoke and fires. Bernadette and Renaldo talk about football! If this is your first time here, Bernadette loves football. Today we have Autumn Connolly, and at the half, Jason Harris talking about generosity, so stick around!
    Autumn Warren Connolly
Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies. She is the creator of Anvil Traditional Healing, a company dedicated to restoring microbiome health through diet. Follow on Instagram @AnvilTraditionalHealing. Autumn is also a self-taught vegan chef, a serial gardener and an avid believer in, and teacher of, the healing powers of meditation. Contact her at: [email protected]

    The Four Agreements
The Four Agreements are - Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. These four simple rules can change the way you live! The Four Agreements are our bible, and we try to live by it! When you break an agreement, all the power you used to create the agreement come back. It's an ebb and flow! It is quite simple principals, but they apply to so many things in life. The Four Agreements keep our mind in check. Our words put our subconscious into fruition, into force. Bernadette brings up gossip and how detrimental it can be for the person gossiping and the person who is being talked about.

Next is the 2nd of the 4 agreements, and once you can master it, your life gets easier. Don't take it personally! Autumn when she moved away from the big city, she expected nicer neighbors. Once Autumn learned that she couldn't please everyone, and to not take anything personally, she felt free! The 3rd agreement is Autumn's favorite! Autumn and her children have vivid imaginations, so she often finds herself thinking things up that are not necessarily the truth. Autumn has to remind herself of the 3rd agreement to ground herself and bring her back to reality. The fourth agreement is simple. Always do your best. Try your hardest and you won't find yourself judging yourself so harshly. Sometimes your best is not very good, but as long as you know it's your best, you did a good job.
    Jason Harris

Jason Harris is the Co-Founder & CEO of Mekanism, an award- winning creative advertising agency whose clients include Ben & Jerry’s, Peloton, OkCupid, Molson Coors and Alaska Airlines. Under his leadership, Mekanism was named to Ad Age’s Agency A-list and twice to their Best Places to Work. Mekanism was also named as one of Creativity’s Creativity 50.Harris has been named in the Top 10 Most Influential Social Impact Leaders, as well as in the 4A’s list of “100 People Who Make Advertising Great”. Jason’s national best-selling book, “The Soulful Art of Persuasion,” highlights the 11 habits you need to become more authentically or soulfully persuasive.
    Pt. 2 – Generosity
To catch up on part one, click here! Being generous is so important. Generous people are the sorts of individuals that we like to do favors for. When generous people succeed, we are not jealous. As it relates to persuasion, when you are a generous person at your core, we want to agree with you and believe in you. It behooves you to be generous at all turns! Jason says he was not born naturally generous, he had to make it a habit through practice. Jason says he saw success happening more easily around him when he made generosity a  habit. Try leaving every person you interact with a gift. Leave them with a gift in the form of many different ways!

  • #1323, Zen Honeycutt Moms Across America, Von Eaglin

    Happy Thursday!
Bernadette is out of breathe right from the start! She is just so excited for todays show! Von Eaglin is on at the half to talk about understanding vs empathy. But first, Zen Honeycutt of Mom's Across America!
    Von Eaglin
Von Eaglin is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and works with two group practices in the Dallas area. He is a certified couple relationship trainer and sees a wide range of clients addressing men’s issues, anger management, abuse, and addiction; just to name a few. He is also a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas in the Counseling and Higher Education Department. His Ph.D. research focuses on on couple relationships dialogue. You can find him at his website or follow him on Instagram @VonTalks.
    Understanding vs Empathy
Empathy is an intellectual test. There are four steps for empathy! Perspective taking is where you take the perspective of another person. Number 2 is staying out of judgement. You have to work towards staying out of judgement to understand the other persons feelings and struggles. 3 and 4 is recognizing emotions in other people, and being about to communicate. You need to try and ask a lot of open ended questions to understand the other person. For Bern, taking an intellectual interest in someone is love. Von says you should, but just because you love somebody doesn't mean you have the capacity to be empathetic towards them.

Fun fact, women that complain more earlier in their relationships tend to have longer and better relationships. The more you know! Use "I feel" statements to complain. Avoid criticisms and over-generalizations. Avoid "You always" and "You never" because those are general and broad. Understanding and empathy are not the safe. Understanding shows you cognitively understand what the other person is trying to convey. Empathy takes something more in the listener. Empathy requires feeling for the other person and trying to feel with them, not just feel for them.
Zen Honeycutt and Moms Across America
Zen Honeycutt is an activist, speaker, author, and the founder and director of Moms Across America, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and empower mothers and others with actions and solutions to create healthy communities. While heading Moms Across America, Zen initiated the first testing for glyphosate in tap water, breast milk, and urine and spearheaded the non-profit’s successful petition to Costco to remove Roundup from their shelves. She is the author of “UNSTOPPABLE: Transforming Sickness and Struggle into Triumph, Empowerment And A Celebration of Community.”
Are Online Remote Classes Harmful For Children?
Children are spending 3-5 hours a day on their laptops, even first graders! Children are especially vulnerable from EMFs coming from electronic devices. 33000 to 2.5 million microwaves per square meter. 10-100 is what is safe, for adults! Bernadette warns about microwaves well, and admits that she only uses her microwave as a bread box! The people who make the devices, so the microwaves, phones, etc, only look at certain periods of times for how they affect their users. We have to start mitigating the impact.

Parents can take steps to make remote learning safer. You can buy shielded Ethernet cords and adapters for your phone and laptop that can be plugged into your router. Once you find the login information, you can log in to the ethernet safe website and toggle the settings to protect you and your children from dangerous EMF's. Click here to "Get Hard Wired" and find the steps to become safe from EMFs. Have you heard of Wifi on wheels? Wifi on Wheels is a truck that provides poor families with free wifi. Zen warns against these trucks because they could be harming children and their families.

  • #1322, Tina Bernet Allen, Dr. Emily Ventura

    Happy Hump Day!
Do you want to go higher baby? You're in the right place! Bernadette and Renaldo go back and forth about traveling. Dr. Emily Ventura and Fitness Expert Tina Bernet Allen are here today.  We will be covering everything from working out and exercise to sugar consumption and what it is doing to our children! We have a great show in store, so stick around!
    Tina Bernet Allen
Tina has been teaching aerobics’ classes at several of Dallas’ top studios and health clubs, as well as instructing and developing resistance training programs for individuals and groups and is recognized as one of the top female personal trainers in Dallas/Fort Worth area. She graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology. She has had continuing studies and certifications in nutrition, anatomy, exercise physiology and biomechanics.
You Can't Exercise Out A Poor Diet
Diet is not just for health reasons, but you need a good diet to even sleep better! Many women think of working out as a way to just burn calories so they can eat more calories somewhere else. If you use working out simply to burn calories, you are adding negative energy to something that should be positive. You don't want to use food as a reward for working out. Food is fuel, so if you eat crap, you are going to feel like crap. Weight loss vs fat loss is not that different. So many people dread working out, but you just have to start and we promise it gets easier! You should always have some protein on your plate! If you're not getting amino acids, you may be working against yourself as far as muscle gains.

If your goal is to burn fat and change your body composition, there a few differentiations you can make during your workout and throughout the day. Tina says always, eat a lot of proteins and non starchy veggies. Avoid sugar and flour products! Keep a food journal! A log can keep you accountable for your caloric intake. Stay hydrated! When you wake up in the morning, have at least 10 ounces of water. Try to be consistent in your diet and exercise. When you stay consistent, you do not have to change your workouts to accommodate for your aging body.
    Dr. Emily Ventura
Dr. Emily Ventura is an experienced nutrition educator, public health advocate, writer, and cook. After working in writing and public relations in the arenas of environmental protection and food, she completed her Master's in Public Health and Doctorate of Philosophy in Health Behavior Research at the University of Southern California. She was selected as a Fulbright Scholar to teach Public Health Nutrition in Italy and now lives in California and works as a writer, recipe developer, and mother to two young boys.
Sugarproof: The Hidden Dangers In Sugar That Put Your Child At Risk
It's not just sugar in general that is harming our children, it's other things like fructose. We have a silent epidemic of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease now. Wow! Be careful of fruit juice concentrates, they often contain large amounts of fructose. The more sugar we give our children the more the sweet craving is enforced. Processed foods contain so much sugar, so find a healthy swap! Beware of granola bars and yogurt. They contain so much sugar! Ketchup is also one of the biggest violators! There are over 200 names for sugars in foods. Do your research!

Start your baby out on the right track! Try no juice before 12 months of age. Dilute your juice with water like Bernadette did with her children! Breakfast is a big topic. Feed a non sugary breakfast to stop the sugar cycle. Try whole grains and proteins for breakfast instead of sugary cereals and syrups.
    Thank You!

  • #1321, Immunoflora w/ Jared Ramirez, Mory Fontanez

    Happy Tuesday
Bernadette is so excited for today's show! She has been waiting for her Immunoflora shipment in the mail, she even ordered 5 more boxes! Jared Ramirez is here to talk about their new product! Mory Fontanez is on later in the half to discuss gender bias in corporate America!
    Jared Ramirez
Jared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio. Enviromedica is a natural health and wellness company founded in 2007. Inspired by nature and ancestral health, they make premium foundational products to support whole body nutrition and help people achieve optimal health.
    Immunoflora
Jared decide to create immunoflora when they identified a need in the market for a natural supplement that supported both arms of the immune system, the innate and the adaptive immune systems. The innate immune system s your first line of response. It can also learn from what it has encounter and remember for how to respond to it next time. The adaptive immune system, also referred as the acquired immune system, is a subsystem of the immune system that is composed of specialized, systemic cells and processes that eliminates pathogens by preventing their growth. Most supplements on the market only hit certain parts of one immune system, instead of being broad spectrum. They also wanted to create something compatible for a large scale of people, so immunoflora was born!

A lot of people don't understand probiotics, so having a great company like Enviromedica that is transparent and has your health in mind is amazing! Jared says to choose a supplement that'll cover your bases broad spectrum. Immunoflora contains paraprobiotics, so heat killed. Immunoflora should be taken along side a live probiotic like Enviromedica's own deep immune or women's daily.
    Mory Fontanez

Mory Fontanez is a Purpose Coach and the founder and CEO of 822 Group, designing intuitive organizations and cultivating purposeful leaders. Previously the Managing Director of Strategy at a global PR company, Mory uses both her corporate strategy and intuitive skills to coach executives and individuals in aligning their business with their higher purpose. Mory’s work has been written up in Business Insider, Conscious Company, Doing (Good) Business, Kivo Daily, and more.

    Gender Bias In Corporate America
We have been taught through story lines, media, and things we see and hear that leadership characteristics that we see are masculine. Because leadership is seen as masculine, still, even us women buy into the narrative that we must be as "strong" as men. Because of this unconscious bias, we allow ourselves to be held back in corporate America. Bernadette says that men seem to complain less. Mory suggests that men seem to maybe complain less because they don't ask for permission from higher ups, but rather go ahead and assume leadership roles. Women feel they need to ask permission before changing something. We must talk about these things in order to clear them up in corporate America. We realize some of these topics can upset some people, but we must talk about these things!

It is important when we talk diversity and inclusion that we include the modern day woman in that conversation, too. Bernadette asks if corporations are doing better in equality for men and women. Mory says she is loving seeing the training that is being implemented. What she loves best is the open conversations with amazing facilitators to facilitate conversations that trigger questions for both men and women about their experience in the workplace. There is change happening! Let's keep an open mind. Mory says to get to know yourself really well, and become in relationship with your strengths.
    Thank You
A big thank you to our guests, Jared Ramirez and Mory Fontanez!

  • #1320, Labor Day w/ Autumn Connolly and Mary Holland

    Happy Labor Day!
Renaldo and Bernadette are having a great Labor Day! There was a little technical mishap before going live, but Bernadette handled it like a pro! Labor Day is when fall officially begins, at least for Bernadette. We have a great show for you all today with Mary Holland, and Autumn Warren Connolly, so stay tuned!
    Autumn Warren Connolly
Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies. She is the creator of Anvil Traditional Healing, a company dedicated to restoring microbiome health through diet. Powerful Life Lessons and Principals From “The Alchemist"
"The Alchemist" is one of those books that people can't really groan and moan at! It is a very interesting story chocked full of information of the universe. "The Alchemist" is a fabulous novel with great nuggets of wisdom weaved in. Personal destinies are a resounding theme throughout the book, and we are all trying to follow our heart! Autumn says remember what brought you true authentic joy as a child and find it now. Find the happiness you have forgotten about. Bernadette says to never put money before people and relationships. We must prioritize relationships over our wallets. Altruism is a way to definitively express gratitude. When you are grateful for what you have, you don't mind giving it to other people.

The universal language and the soul of the world seems like a tall order to understand. In general, it means your connection to everything around you. In the book, it is the shepard being able to communicate with this sheep. The Alchemist takes time to show that other living things communicate, and we can communicate with these energies as well, so listen. "You will never be able to escape from your heart, so it's better to listen to what it has to say." What a beautiful message! Your heart is the gateway to your inner self, to your better self. Your heart makes day to day life worth it. Don't get caught up in frivolous things, but spend time sitting with your heart and your feelings. Do not stake your happiness on outside influences.
    Mary Holland
Mary Holland serves as General Counsel and Vice Chair of the board at Children’s Health Defense. She recently left the faculty of the New York University School of Law where she served for 17 years, most recently directing its Graduate Lawyering Program. Mary received her Master of Arts and Juris Doctor Degrees from Columbia University, and her undergraduate degree from Harvard. She has worked in international public and private law. Mary is the co-author of “Vaccine Epidemic” and “The HPV Vaccine on Trial: Seeking Justice for a Generation Betrayed”.
    Children's Health Defense Update
The mission of the Children's health Defense is to educate people on the exposures that are harming American Children. They want to prevent exposures from happening in the future, as well as holding those who have brought harm accountable. They focus quite a bit on vaccine safety and wireless harms as well. Mary Holland just recently went to a large protest in Berlin, Germany with Robert Kennedy Jr. The protest was peaceful and a-political! Mandates for vaccines can be detrimental. We must stand together and stand up to those who seek to remove our liberties from right our from under our nose. Mary Holland says that people in Europe who have live through so many forms of government really understand totalitarian government and can recognize it in a different way than us Americans.

Children's Health Defense is in a lawsuit with Facebook! Facebook entered into a partnership with the CDC, and Facebook began to censor Mary Holland and her information.

  • #1318, Dr. Alexis Temkin and Glyphosate, Dewone Bennett

    Happy Thursday!
Bernadette is feelings little stressed, but she is so excited for today's show! Bernadette is looking forward to addressing how to deal with anger with Dewone Bennet. But first, Dr. Alexis Temkin is up and ready to talk about glyphosate!

How To Effectively Deal With Anger
So many people are angry right now. The political anger behind the presidential race and COVID outcomes has really driven people to explosive anger. There are many types of anger. Justifiable anger could be anger surrounding social injustices. Annoyance anger is when you may be cut off when driving, so basically you or someone is just acting like a jerk. Passive anger is indirect, subtle, and passive aggressive. How do you know when anger is a disorder? Most people deal with intermitted anger, but if you deal with anger constantly, you may be dealing with constant anger. Anger can come from our childhood, too. With children, anger is now becoming more indirect and passive. Childhood anger is not just stealing their lunch money or throwing their books down. Anger in children now is sneaky, and over the internet. Very passive.

Anger is a normal part of grief. Knowing how to deal with your anger means understanding your loss or the trauma that fuels the anger. If you are feeling angry all the time, you should join a support group. If you are constantly feeling on the edge, you might need a place to talk about it openly. Learning how to self regulate is important. Anger is a feeling or an emotion, but rage is different. Rage is an action or a retaliation and can be destructive.
    Dr. Alexis Temkin
Dr. Alexis Temkin is a toxicologist with a Ph.D., Marine Biomedicine and Environmental Sciences, Medical University of South Carolina and a B.A. in Biological Sciences, Connecticut College. Dr. Temkin supports EWG’s consumer databases, policy and research in the areas of personal care and cleaning products, pesticides and tap water. Temkin began her research career at Columbia University Medical Center, working as a lab technician studying the molecular mechanisms responsible for environmental influence on gene regulation. As a doctoral student, she studied how exposure to environmental chemicals during development can influence adult obesity and metabolic syndrome. Her areas of expertise include Chemicals in consumer products, Glyphosate, Pesticides, PFAS and Tap water.
    The Dangers Of Glyphosate
Bernadette has been passionate about glyphosate for years. The EWG, or environmental working group, mission is to empower people to live healthier lives in healthier environments. Dr. Temkin realizes that everyday life can have run ins with chemicals in our food and water. Glyphosate is a pesticide, specifically an herbicide. When infused, it will kill plants. For that reason, It's primary use is for weed control, so that's its main use. It is the main ingredient in round up! Bad! Not everyone can afford to buy all organic produce. The EWG is the creator of the dirty dozen and the clean fifteen list that we love and reference so much! So many foods have been found to contain glyphosate, so try and follow the clean fifteen and the dirty dozen. Regarding water, monitoring for glyphosate is already happening. Look at the EWG's tap water study to see where your city checks in!
    Thank You!

  • #1316, Jerry Yudelson, Lauren Herring

    Happy Tuesday!
Bernadette gets deep today. Please, rethink dove hunting. The doves live behind Bernadette's house and she loves seeing them every morning! Please, rethink your hobby. If you kill for sport, please rethink your actions. As far as actions, our two guests are always in action! Jerry Yudelson and Lauren Herring will be joining One Life Radio today! So exciting!
    Jerry Yudelson
Yudelson is a social activist, environmentalist, engineer and spiritual seeker. He’s chronicled his extensive 50-year career and spiritual journey in his book, “The Godfather of Green: An Eco-Spiritual Memoir.” Jerry’s environmental activism began with the inaugural Earth Day Celebration in 1970, when Jerry was a campus organizer at Caltech. He was a key player in California’s solar energy movement during the 70s and 80s, appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to run the state’s solar development program. Jerry has authored 12 books on green building, sustainable development, water conservation, green homes, building performance and green marketing.
Fires, Floods, Coronavirus & Climate Change – The Real Challenges We Face in the Coming Decade.
Jerry is here to tell us a little bit more about climate change. Currently, there are so many wildfires in California right now due to lightning! The influx of storms is directly due to climate change. Right now, we have more carbon dioxide in the universe than we have in 3 million years. We are heading into doubling and tripling the temperature rise than ever before. Let's look at hurricane Laura. Laura went from a category 1 to a category 4 in 24 hours. The increased heat in the Gulf of Mexico allowed for hurricane Laura to gain strength. We have changed a lot in the last 50 years since the first earth day in 1970. The United States need to be a good example for other countries around the world. We are taking advantage of our earth and planet. We must respect the planet we were given. There is no planet B!

10 Emotions To Master During Your Job Search
So many people are out of work right now, so Lauren's book is a great read, and so timely! Networking is the #1 driver of jobs right now, especially now, more than ever. The saying "it's not about what you know, it's who you know" is a saying for a reason! Career IQ and EQ are important, but EQ can often be forgotten. Your emotional expertise matters too! Sometimes, not having a job is not the worst thing ever. Take time to get your game plan together. Take time to strengthen your skills. If you do not have connections, that's okay! Bernadette says that she respects people who want to work hard, more than those who just "sit" or know someone. You must master both the positive and negative emotions alike! Having a team of support behind you is critical during a job search. Think of it as a personal advisory board. Lauren says to the people that are desperate to find a job during COVID, do not be discouraged. Get out there and try! Focus on your personal branding and make your intentions clear.
