Welcome to this week's episode of The Second of Strength Podcast. This week's episode focuses on raising men through building key habits and character traits.
I have 2 boys. One is a teenager and the other in elementary school. It's been so interesting to watch these two young men navigate the world. As I sat back and watched a few interactions this week I saw a need to teach my son a few things that would help him in the future. I thought these things would help you and your kids.
The beauty of these lessons is that they require zero talent. Everybody can do them. The difference is that not everybody does and it could make all the difference in their life.
1. Good body language
2. Being coachable
3. Having high energy
4. Work ethic and doing a little extra
5. Keeping the right - neutral - attitude
The beauty of these lessons is that 1. It's not just for sons. 2. It's not just for boys. 3. it's not just for youth. 4. It's for you.
If this episode helps you, please share it and take a moment to leave the show 5 stars.

This week on The Second of Strength Podcast I answer a question that someone asked me on Instagram. This mom asked me if she made the wrong decision with her daughter. In this episode I talk about the advice I gave her and that we can't second guess the decisions we made at the time based on the information.
I talk about a mindset shift that has helped me and the thing I teach our little league baseball team. "Next Best". Regardless of the decision you made, what's the "Next Best" decision you can make.
We can't dwell in the past, we can only live in the now and make choices that impact our future.

Welcome to this week’s episode of The Second of Strength Podcast. Today’s episode dives into something I call “digital atrophy”. The premise that some of our most important skills as people are declining due to our digital appetites.
A few years ago after rupturing my Achilles I witnessed just how drastic muscle atrophy is and how quickly it takes place. The way back was painful and time consuming. It took months of rehab to get most of the way back to the person – or athlete – I was before.
I believe we are experiencing a similar atrophy in certain areas of our life due to the amount of time we are spending on devices. Focus, attention span, creativity, and social skills are a few key areas that are being proven, through research, to be diminishing.
Today’s episode talks about the various studies showing the “atrophy” in these areas. We’ll finish by talking about key strategies to overcome this in our lives.
Enjoy!
