  • Feeling Like an Imposter? Good! || Ep. 32

This week's episode of The Second of Strength Podcast dives into a topic that I've felt many times in my life: Imposter syndrome.

If you're anything like me then you have felt like an imposter in your life. Along with it, doubt, fear, and inadequacy.

The question asked in today's episode is if feeling like an imposter is a bad thing or is it actually a good thing. Spoiler alert, I think it's a good thing if we use it the right way.

I hope today's episode helps you overcome those feelings of inadequacy so you can overcome and step into your growth.

  • Why You Should STOP and Look Back to Move Forward.|| Ep 29 BONUS

A quick, off cycle bonus episode of The Second of Strength Podcast. I took a trip down memory lane a few weeks ago and it made me realize just how far I've come.

If you were to tell your 8 year old self about your life, they would be amazed at who you've become. When was the last time you paused, just to look back at how far you've come? You are not the same person you used to be. You've come so far.

This quick episode is meant to be a reflective moment for you. Pause. Look back. Now go forward.

  • Planting Seeds of Success || Ep 28

This week's episode of The Second of Strength Podcast, Tanner dives into the world of intentional thoughts. The reality is that if we don't intentionally place thoughts in our mind then somebody or something else will.

This episode talks about what planting seeds (goals) looks like and what it takes to keep weeds out so that you can reach your ultimate goal and potential.

Additionally, there are two ways to "weed out" the the thoughts and distractions that are keeping you from your ultimate gaol and pursuit of happiness.

  • It's Time to Burn the Boats || Ep. 27

    Burn the boats.

This weeks episode of The Second of Strength Podcast, Tanner talks about the need to burn the boats that are keeping us anchored to comfort. The phrase “Burn the boats” comes from the 1500’s when Hernan Cortez instructed his men to destroy the ships they had just arrived on so that there was no turning back.  In one commend and act he made it so his Spanish Conquistadors would be forced to go forward.  There was no retreat. There was no “plan b”. There was only forward, fight, and win.

How often are we failing to move forward simply because we give ourselves the option to go backwards if it gets to hard or too scary

It’s time to burn the boats. It’s time to move forward with faith that forward is the right direction. It’s time to be confident in your abilities and your future. It’s time to burn the boats.

  • Is Happiness a Choice? I say yes. || Ep. 26

This week on The Second of Strength Podcast I break down a simple question with a not so simple answer. Is happiness a choice?

    I believe it is.

This does not mean that life isn't hard. It is. Sometimes it's unfair. Sometimes it doesn't make sense but the real question is, are we dwelling on and staying in pain or are we choosing to find the joy in even the hardest moments.

This episode touches on specific ways that you, your teens, and anyone else can choose happiness and what changes you might need to make to do it.

I hope it helps you find the bright side of life.

  • Resilient Teenagers: Breaking The Fear of Failure || Ep. 25

“How do we teach this to our teens?” This week’s episode of The Second of Strength Podcast dives into the fear of failure. A few weeks ago I posted an Instagram video that said that one of the things teenagers are struggling with is the “Fear of Failure”.  One of the comments on the post was asking how to help them. Sooooo…here’s the way.

This episode will talk about why we are afraid to fail and give 4 ways that we can start helping our teenagers today.  This episode isn’t just for teenagers. Its for anyone who has ever been too scared to try something because of the fear of failure…which – news flash – is literally everyone.

The topics that we’ll dive into…

    1. Using self-validating phrases when you talk to yourselves.
    2. Reframing past attempts as positives.
    3. Accepting (and embracing) who you are today.
    4. Focusing all the positive things you have accomplished.
    5. I hope this episode helps! I think it will. I appreciate you spending the time to listen and please leave a review for the show!

    6. How Saying "NO" Means More YES! || Ep. 24

NO. I can’t. Sorry! Maybe next time.

This week’s episode of The Second of Strength Podcast is all about saying NO so that you can say YES to you.

One thing I love about the community of people who listens to this podcast, follows me on Instagram, and invites me to speak in schools and events is that you are ALL so kind. You are just good people. Sometimes, that means that we are doing too much for others and limiting our own personal growth. It’s true.

The more we say yes to everything else in our lives, the less time we have to work on us and our pursuits of happiness. To be clear, I’m not saying don’t be kind and I’m not saying don’t help other people. I am saying, be careful where you spend your time and energy because it can drain you to the point that you won’t be able to give to yourself.

If you are a battery that has only so much charge to help charge others, it’s important that we poay attention to when that pbattery is on E because we won’t be able to help others.

This episode will help you evaluate when “NO” is the right response to others.
