Marissa’s mom tries to institutionalize her after her OD in Tijuana, but not if Ryan, Seth, and Summer can sneak her out of the hospital (as candy stripers?!)  first! This episode has giant tubs of margarine, streaky highlights and villain make-up, fish out of water themes, more doorbell drop-bys, the fundamental plot device of eavesdropping, a Costco mention, Doree’s analysis of 90’s “sex music.” and the introduction of Seth as a Horse Boy!
