Ever hear the phrase, “don’t shoot the messenger”?

Today’s Momtra episode is a spin on that. Sometimes we receive messages - lessons, opportunities, from various sources. And sometimes we get caught up in who it is and why it’s that person. Whether we don’t feel like it’s their position or place, or we take issue with how they deliver it...all of that distracts from the point.

Are you breathing?

Are you sure? Ok, are you taking intentional, conscious breaths? Or are you like how I used to be -- taking a gasp of deep air into my chest a few times a day after realizing I hadn’t been breathing well for an extended period of time?

Would you consider yourself open-minded and accepting of others?

What about even those that have opposing beliefs or even fundamentally different aspects of life that you would consider unkind and not accepting of others - do you still hold space for them and honor their ability to choose?

In today’s episode, I’m sharing some stuff that’s come up for me personally and how I navigate through using heightened awareness and mindfulness, without letting it turn down an ugly path that essentially puts the tools against you and others. I think there are dark alleyways that pop up and can lure us in when we’re on a trajectory of enlightenment or wokeness. 

This is some of my experience and some of my suggestions for staying grounded, centered and accountable to the love and healing that we say we’re about.

Lady in the streets, but a freak in the sheets? 

Sure. Ok. That’s cool. I think there are other ways to look at it and relate to it, too. Like for example, what about “Goddess in the streets, Goddess in the sheets?”

Energy is energy. So what if we looked at ourselves and how we’re integrating all the different parts and attributes of us - and see how we’re showing up in life and in the bedroom mirrors each other.
