I don’t think I’ve ever been more proud of something we’ve done. This year’s race has gone above and beyond everything we hoped… and there is so much left to come!
Green Monday was a great success. Aside from many people out running in green, we saw some of you go the extra mile and connect with an old friend. So heart-warming and great to see!
On Tuesday you were all signing “Run” on your run. Or, at least, attempting it. Thank you so much for bringing awareness to our Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs.
Then on Wednesday you all came out for Autism Acceptance Day. Some of you shared pictures and stories no one else knew before. Thank you!
I’d also like to thank our program leaders – Mike Romans, Erin Shepherd and Scott Frasard – for putting together such great ideas for our race. And there is more to come!
Today is our “What is Your Cause?” day. We’re asking you to share with us what causes are most special to you. This nonprofit world is very competitive, but we support anyone going the extra mile to help people.
Friday is our “Kids and Seniors” day. We encourage you to run with a kid (preferably someone you know) or someone elderly who doesn’t get out much and go for a walk or run. This is in tribute to the Ordinary Marathoner Foundation Kids Running Clinics and Seniors Programs we hope to initiate in the future.
Then comes Saturday’s Run For the Fallen. This will start at 9am. We will have the final schedule of all the 15-minute time slots out in a few days. We think this will be an incredibly moving tribute. Reach out to me if you’d like to get a time slot and pay tribute to a fallen service member.
Thank you all for making this race an incredible event so far!
