Dan Lanning stressed the importance of Oregon Football's Spring Game when it comes to recruiting. The Ducks had a long list of potential future Ducks in Autzen on Saturday who were treated to their first taste of an Oregon crowd. Now that the game has passed, Lanning and co. return to the recruiting trail as they look to build out the Class of 2023 with several 5-star recruits in their sights.
On this episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin is joined by John Garcia Jr., the director of recruiting for Sports Illustrated. John gives insight on 5-star QB Jayden Rashada going on an official visit to Ole Miss instead of attending Oregon's Spring Game. Though a late-breaking development that was definitely a surprise, Rashada is still expected to return to Eugene in the future for another visit.
Without a high school QB recruit in the Class of 2022, many Duck fans are wondering if Dan Lanning and this new staff will be able to land a top signal-caller in 2023. Rashada is arguably their top target for next year, but 5-star QB Dante Moore from Detroit has been tied to the Ducks as well. John provides insight into where Oregon stands with each quarterback recruit, as well as others including 5-star RB Richard Young, 5-star DL David Hicks, and 5-star DE Matayo Uiagalelei.
