Oregon Football is going after some big-time recruits in the class of 2023, some of whom are a little newer on the Ducks' radar while others have been in their sights for some time. Riley Williams, an in-state 4-star TE who's the #1 recruit in the state of Oregon for the next recruiting cycle, falls into the latter of those two categories. Instead of visiting Eugene this weekend as had been planned, he released a top 3 final schools that did not include Oregon.

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin dives into the latest headlines the Ducks are generating on the recruiting trail. The offseason has been overwhelmingly positive where recruiting is concerned, but this piece of news might be one that gets fans' attention in a negative way. It's not ideal, but there's no reason to feel majorly concerned both from a recruiting and positional point of view--Oregon should be just fine in both areas. The evening of the day this episode drops, Oregon will be waiting for the commitment of 2023 4-star safety Tyler Turner, who's down to the Ducks and the Oklahoma Sooners.

Going forward beyond Tyler Turner, the Ducks will continue to wait on some important recruits and whether or not they will play their college football in Eugene. From 5-star DE Matayo Uiagalalei to 4-star CB Caleb Presley and beyond, there are a bevy of players that Dan Lanning and co. are hoping will eventually choose the Ducks. Oregon has missed out on the #1 offensive lineman in the class of 2023 (Kadyn Proctor) leaving a bit of a blank canvas for OL coach Adrian Klemm when it comes to recruiting the offensive lines of the future.
