Bo Nix, much like he did at his previous stop at Auburn, has already begun to divide the Oregon Football fanbase with his play on the field. He finished Saturday's game 21/37 for 173 yards, 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions for a QBR of 58.9 (out of 100). He also ran 8 times for 36 yards, and despite this (hopefully) not being his best game as a QB, Duck fans should not rush to call for him to be benched.

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin discusses the week 1 performance of Oregon QB Bo Nix. There are things Nix did well, but mostly it was an overall negative day for the offense--a theme that can not be solely blamed on the Ducks' quarterback throwing two interceptions and failing to find the endzone. The offense, including Nix, should be given time to develop under a brand new staff and first-time play-caller in OC Kenny Dillingham.

The Ducks' defense got some bad news unfortunately, DT and 2021 First-Team All-Pac 12 performer Popo Aumavae will be out for the season. He did not play against Georgia and now leaves a permanent void on the defensive line after coming into 2022 as a returning starter. Spencer goes through some of the names who will need to step up in his absence for the defense to turn it around in this 2022 season.
